Only thing I don't like about them moving it is that the area it came from was already ride heavy. It's good to break it up a little. Especially as that play area was for little kids. I wish they'd invest in a new play area too. A brand new one like what they have at Banham Zoo would be great. So many parks, especially in Europe have really big play areas with some huge tubular slides. Something like that would be a big hit at PWH.
It wasn't that ride heavey, only had a drop tower to the side and a log flume to the front, and they'll end up putting a ride in it's place at some point, other wise there was no point moving it. Anyway, at least there thinking along the right lines this time.

Well, in it's current state, rattlesnake's station is just boarded up (went to have a look last week). Hopefully they won't leave it like that for the main season, hardly looks professional, does it?
Merry Mariner.. isn't that the one near the clown slide? i always get it mixed up with the one on main street.
Either they're making some really heavy cut backs or it part of a bigger plan.

Why close the Mariner? As per my experience, it's always been the busiest food outlet there. They've also got that bar area in the same building. Anyone know what's happening to that?
Ain't just saying this, but I had always eaten in the Merry Mariner :(
The park is going to look the worst it ever has this year... with the Rattlesnake all boarded up, the castle sitting empty, the area where the play was moved from looking all bare, and the main restaurant sitting there doing nothing.
I feel like the time we start to worry about the future of the park is upon us again...

No i don't see the point in the 7 day pass, holiday makers wont use it and i doubt locals are going to want to visit the park more than once in a 7 day period. Otherwise you may as well buy a season ticket. Plus there's nothing to visit the park for... it sounds like it's looking like a building site .

It would make more sense to close the main street diner or at least mothball it perhaps, to close the largest indoor site is a odd one. I wonder if it suffered last year with volume of people as the new grilled chicken unit was a incredible success. I do question the need for so many outlets for a park of this size. Although we use to have bbq area, main Street, fish and chips unit, chicken unit, the train unit and hungry bears aswell as chip and dip and the former bacon kiosk which is now closed too. A huge amount of food available at the time yet the crowds were there then.
They probs don't get the numbers in to need so many foodie places.
They got that new one opening so there's probably enough to meet demands.. it's exciting to see what happens next, i'm not sure they would want to pull it down, it could be used as an indoor picnic aria maybe.
Did they ever re open Lazer Labyrinth? i always forget that's another attraction lost during the last 4 years that was never replaced.

I can't see the point in the pass thing to be honest. You can essentially get PWH done in half a day and it's not like they've got anything absolutely amazing to keep you occupied all day. I can't see anyone wanting to go anything above twice in a week without getting bored. Throw in the inevitable crap weather and there you go. A 7 day pass for somewhere like Europa or PA, maybe even something the size of Thorpe? That might work, there's enough to keep you occupied, but PWH? Oh well, might work for all I know.
Never really thought of the food outlets all being in that area before.... at one time, the train, Main St restaurant, Main St counter, tea room and Mariner were all within a stones throw of each other!
it could all mean potential development areas, although we are close to houses over by the bbq area - the site is big especially if train line re routed
yeah those houses would be an issue, they might use it for the workers and open the building next to Joe's as an attraction, or knock them though the make Joe's bigger.. maybe.
Either they've got plans for they have no intention of doing anything and it'll remain empty, kinda excited to see how happens next year now.
We'll may have to rename the park Emptywood Hills.

There's a few, and they not much further away from the part then the closet house was to Rattlesnake.
But they could certainly do something with the aria.
Is there a Dive show this year? or can i add that to the list of "dead, empty, removed and cancelled ride but we're still putting up the price" list.

There are houses closer than you think in that part and it has always been a issue whatever end. I would think the dive show will be back it was popular
And I've just checked again, there's like 6 houses up the back end of the park (from the Castle to Merry Mariner) that are nowhere near as close to the park as the entire residential estate down near Rattlesnake.
