So they've posted a pic of this shark that's going up on Main Street (why do they even call it that anymore?).
Additional theming is always welcome, but it just seems a little.....why? Why spend money on this when it could have been spent on improving the Safari ride (for example)?
Thought the music suited the video perfectly, sunny, colourful and fun.
Might have been better when the old PHW theme and the skeleton song from the music hall :D

I watched the video again this morning. It shows pretty much every ride which is great. Still that music is so repetitive but upon second listening it's not that bad.
They did have a shortened version for the TV ad they did last year Martyn. There was a lot of that footage. However, a TV ad should encompass more of what that video shows which is more of the essence of the park.
- Flying Fish restaurant is being renamed Smokey Joe
- The unused catering outlet next to Hobs is becoming Sharkys Fish and Chips (hence the shark)
- The exterior to Hobs is being reduced to just around the main entrance, as the rest is repainted new colours
- The Hobs Pit shop is becoming a sweet shop and is being separated from the main queue and exit, giving it a dark more secluded feel. The shop will also have a new entrance.
Reading between the lines, it sounds to me like Hobs Pit may being somewhat "sanitised" to fit in more with the family-friendly feel the park is going for.
Less of an intimidating frontage, removal of the shop etc... I wonder if the internal changes will mean fewer scares?
Well I hope that's not true Matt, that would be disappointing!
Edit: Oh just read your post on facebook - it seems a shame that they are going to remove the shop element but hopefully the ride won't be harmed. I am certainly liKing a refreshed and hopefully more buzzing Main Street - it's been lacking in atmosphere in recent years.
A bit sad that Hobs frontage will be minimised or gone
Edit again: I didn't notice Martyn had posted that info above!

I could be wrong. Hopefully the changes will just mean the attraction will be more self contained. A bright and vibrant looking Main Street is no bad thing as long as one of their recent "star attractions" doesn't end up being sidelined.
Ah so it begins, the new team at the hills never liked it as it didn't fit their family theme, but i didn't think they would try and change to quite so soon. I honestly believe they'll make it more kiddie friendly, especially as they no longer have the boat ride.
They have two sweet shops now? *sigh*

At the end of the day, it's still a glorified Ghost Train. There's nothing they can do to make it kiddy friendly. They could make it less 'extreme' by dubbing down the scene at the door, but that's about it.
It's got an over 12 limit, if people don't like it they don't like it. You're always going to get people complaining though. I read a trip advisor review that was 1 star because someone took their kids on TOTC. The dog scared them or something and they expected a full refund and warnings of how terrifying the ride to be plastered all over the entrance...
wonder what colour it'll be. White undercoat? erm... one get a colour to cover that properly, Probs a primer instead.
I doubt they've fixed the train, i'm sure they would have announced that if they had.
I am still stunned that there has been no word on TTT.
Of course Hobs pit isn't scary, it's a 12.. and your's a fully grown adult!! I bet the kids find a bit creepy.
I reckon they'll take the video at the entrance off, and remove some of the gorey bits, and it'll be just a polished up ghost train. Nothing wrong with that but then it wasn't worth creating the thing otherwise. But i'm jumping the gun.. can't critist them for doing something they haven't done yet, but the signs are there.
