RE: 2016 Season Discussion

Yeah there were pictures Jo. Where they were is another question though.... maybe when you get a few mins have a browse through the Hobs Pit thread on here?

Josh, I wouldn't get your hopes up on a new name, it's still called Enigma on this year's map.

Hobs Pit needs to be left alone, it's clear that a lot of thought went into the design and to have that ruined to make it more "family friendly" would be a huge shame.

^ There is absolutely nothing to suggest that is happening Jamie.

I don't know where the idea of that even came from.

I have no information to suggest that they will be limiting the scares within Hobs Pit. It just seemed lile a possibility based on the direction of the park, removal of the associated shop and limiting of the exterior facade.

I dunno there might be more to this Enigma thing, clearly there's no name change but maybe that will come next year.
I so hope it has a new a new train or two.

Wish they had painted the Rattlesnake instead, its in far worse condition.

Yeah they should have done Rattlesnake all in one go. Instead one year they changed the name, gave it a new logo and repainted the train. Yet the station is a dive, the track looks horrible and the tunnel.... well.

Improvements are always welcome, but I do wish they'd do a complete job.

Makes sense to change the shop as it was large so therefore the facade would also have to change/slim to fit. I am sure the merchandise will still be for sale on site

I had a scroll through the Hobs Pit thread Martyn and I think i found the post about the original exterior plan but it had a missing photo (?) link.

It's a step in the right direct but nothing should be left unfinished.

These were the original plans for the Hobs Pit exterior... I agree, this would have looked very cool.

Edit: I'm reliably informed that the only real difference between this sketch and the reality is the lack of "boulders".

thank you Matt! Fantastic to see the original sketch. It doesn't look too much different really except for the boulders which you mentioned and the colour of the wood is a lot lighter than the dark colour PWH have used.

The Hobs pit sign is all a lot bigger in the sketch with separately attached letters which I kind of prefer and I think the boulders would have added a lot more to the theme as well as giving something more to look at, so would be interesting to know why they didn't pursue with those.

I think the current facade looks good enough, it would be a huge shame to see it reduced to just the small section above the entrance (if that's what is happening).

I've received word from the park that Enigma will just be receiving a repaint this season. The colour scheme will be similar to that of the "Famous Jack" ride at Bagatalle (see below).

Also, there is no official launch date yet for the Waveswinger, but the ride will be arriving like brand new from Australia.

That's the colour it is now isn't it? Oh well, at least it'll look fresh. Arriving like brand new? Is it being refurbished?

New colours look like the old colours, but it needed more than a paint job.
I so hope the Waveswinger has been repainted.

I can confirm that we definitely won't, sadly.

Wow, black tarmac aside (why?!!), that looks really nice. PWH have always been on the ball when it comes to landscaping.

Trouble with Bricks they may sink, unless you cement them in and it's costly.
Looks quite nice so far.

From what I've seen, Wipeout looked to be breaking down a bit today.
