I caught the radio ad in full this morning. It's definitely a parody of the Pharrell song Happy. It features a singer and a "rap" from Woody. The opening date is tagged on at the end. Mega cheesy, felt a bit out of place on Kiss in my opinion. I'd have put this version on The Beach and something more slick and thrill-ride focussed on Kiss.
Nice write up, but what a surprise, no mention of Hobs Pit....
I think that was very much Alexis' baby when he was running the park. Perhaps the poor throughput has forced them to sideline it? Or maybe the owners dont feel it fits in with their family-friendly ethos. Would be interesting to know the actual reason. I wonder if we will see many/any live actors inside this season?
lol that question, The beach always talk down to their listeners, it's a little offensive.
Yeah I don't think the new guy likes Hobs Pit, it's unique, and ambitious and needs attention than just being left to rot like other similar attractions. I said it before he just doesn't come across as very enthusiastic or interested than the other chap, (appears he just wants to coast along and keep things as simple and basic as possible, probably he lacks creativity to playing things safe) Guess it shows a real difference between the French and the Brits.. lol
But that's just my opinion based on my interpretation of what I've seen and read, and from previous experience working with him.

It would be a crying shame to see HP forgotten - it's such a great ride! The ride systems is its biggest issue when it comes to throughput. Anyway family means catering for the family and not just youngsters!
It can't be left to rot, it cost Loopings far too much money for them to suddenly not bother with. At £500,000 it must be their biggest single investment.
PHW aren't known for giving their attractions extra special care and attention, and Hobs is a real commitment to keep it decent working order. Be interesting to see some feedback from guests this year about it.

I usually keep quiet on these things, but 'the new guy', isn't a new guy. In my experience working with him, he knows what it takes and has a true vision of what the park requires. Knowing him, I know HP isn't being left to 'rot', they're focussing on a different target market - that's his prerogative. It's all good for the park and the continued investment (how many continuous years now?) is brilliant :)
Thanks for the clarification, Ben. If the social media posts were a true reflection of things, the park had a busy year last season. So they can't be going too far wrong.
I will say that some decisions over the past year or so have definitely seemed odd. But since we don't have an official rep on here any more, we end up trying to draw our own (probably wrong!) conclusions. The disused Castle Theatre, midweek easter opening and two sets of dodgems are the main changes that really seem odd without further explanation. However, I don't get the impression that these things are just random or without good reason. I'm going to carry on assuming that this is all part of a grand plan.
But, there's focusing on a different target market, and then there's just leaving out the ride that was on everyone's lips two years ago.
This years posters have a mix of attractions, including 3 thrill rides, which is good, but we've seen posters of Fireball for over 10 years now. My point is, if they can show the likes of Fireball and Wipeout, why can't Hobs be on there?
I really hope Hob's Pit isn't forgotten about, I've been looking forward to going on it for quite a while now, and it does seem very strange that they aren't advertising it considering all the effort that went into the attraction.
There has been some work done to Hobs over winter, may be only minor yet it has certainly not been forgotten about ! lets see who spots the change on April 1st
I never said it was being left to rot I said "it's unique, and ambitious and needs attention than just being left to rot" this is down to all the details and working parts. Because history tells us PWH aren't that good at keeping their rides in good shape (Enigma, TOTC) and little things like not being bothered to paint the Rattlesnake tunnel.
I agree the promo material is odd, It's not just Hobs being snubbed id thought they would want to push their 4 coasters again. And the new promo material doesn't include any of the recent attractions, "New Ride for 2015" ok what is it? Only really good thing I seen was the Hyper Drive poster that was posted here last week, that was awesome.
But an empty Castle and two Dodgems is also quite puzzling. (New dodgems look awesome but dump the old ones)
Also, PWH has only ever targeted families. Even when Hobs pit was introduced. The biggest mistake was when they dropped the "Family theme park" tagline. They can't target 'teenagers' as they don't have enough of those kinds of rides.

I have a copy of the new 2015 leaflet....it does confirm as I did a couple of weeks back that the season ends November 1st so Halloween family week is on. Safari is listed instead of veteran cars. There is no mention of firework night for the first time in a few leaflets and TOTC is pictured yet not listed. Also the family theme park slogan is back on the front cover.
Matt will aim to get this scanned in properly before Easter
