Hobs Pit is so good! It's not a perfect dark ride by any means, but for a park with PWH's budget, to have the courage to pull off a themed experience as good as Hobs Pit is really impressive IMO. Some of the effects in there are fantastic, and the actors were really good as well (only one in the actual ride but lots in the other parts, and tbh I liked the ride without actors).
Points for improvement for me would be to add a few jump scares, much louder noises and hiding the two fire exits. Other than that, PWH have a fantastic dark ride there!

I went on this for the first time this weekend (first visit to PWH since 2001/2002!!) and I thought it was great! Totally agree with this Jamie!
I've been on it a few times this year and if anything it's got worse. A lot of actors where missing and the scare windows where not being used. Also, reducing the building size makes it look, as far as i'm concerned, awful. It's now just a bit of wood effect with normal white painted buildings on either side (might have changed since last month when I went though). On the upside, they isolated the queue from gift shop. It really works and if they put some audio and lighting effects in it will look even better.
Can't believe they do to all that trouble to build the thing and theme it only to change it all a few years later.
What possessed them to change the exterior so soon? I honestly can't see Hobs staying that long, if sad they've removed the actors which i knew would happen.. and they won't make any improvements, it shall become the TOTC of the park and it sounds as if it's not far off.
I wont be in the park as long as the old Story book ride was that's for sure.

I find it bizarre that they removed the themed exterior, it looked great. I can't see the logic behind it either, it gave Hobs Pit the presence it should have in the area rather than making it look like "that attraction in the corner" so to speak.
A shame to hear that it's not as good, I found it brilliant last year.
Why spend all that time and money on a themed exterior only to reduce it and replace it with something un-themed?
I tell ya, it's the start if the Hobs pit decline. The new manger said he never liked it and it's not coincidence Hob's has gotten worse under his control.. a conspiracy. lol

Hobs Pit was one of the best dark rides in the UK IMO, the theming & atmosphere was outstanding. I think it could have operated without the actors if a few more scares had been added to the blank sections.
It displays a lack of direction from PWH as well, £250,000 is a huge amount of money for a park on that scale and it only opened in 2013. Hardly worth visiting now with Hobs Pit and Rattlesnake gone.

Dear me, things are looking a bit bleak..and what a time to close it just a few weeks before main season starts. I don't think it will be a good season this year at all
Guessing that's the ride that has been 'changed' ?? If not what was the point? who's making these stupid decisions.. i thought things were getting a bit better.
Maybe French company deliberately trying to run down and sabotage the park due to political reasons.

Just watched the old BBC news clip on Hobs Pit, and there's something there that I think we all missed back in 2013... the mention of Loopings wanting to purchase 4 more theme parks in the UK!
It obviously never happened, and the whole thing with Loopings really does remind me of the situation with CdA. Both companies seem to lose interest in the park pretty quick.
Also makes you wonder, wondering Loopings still own the park, why they would want to use their money to change Hobs Pit, when they spent so much on it not long ago.
Can only guess then that the maze under the castle or the train will be come a Hobs Pit scare maze for Halloween. Which would be a cool little way to pay homage to the ride.
*sigh* not good if they have to keep swapping rides over for special events.
Putting it all under the castle and just having a walk around attraction might work, if they're committed to it every year.
