It is desperately needed...

what evidence is there of a refurb, or am I just being thick? I'm pretty hungover so excuse me.

^ A lot of the 'cave' theming has been removed from around the tunnel.

Though it doesn't mean a refurb is on the way, they may just want to COMPLETELY RUIN the look of it, like they did with the Rattlesnake tunnel. :|

My favourite part is always the fire extinguisher near the end. It leaves me permanently scarred to this very day.

I'll never forget how much that dragon used to make me cry back in the Aladdins Cave days!

Is it really your fave ride voiceoverguy... or are you joking? I was so disappointed when I first rode it after the retheme from Aladdin's Cave and the ride has got worse as the years have taken their toll.

The "3D" element of it was non-existant as far as I could tell, so they were right to get rid of that... but I always think that the soundtrack is too quiet to grab people's attention. I also feel that the storyline about this "local legend" is a very obscure one.

They needed to do something good to replace the previous incarnation, and to my mind they totally failed to deliver.

I remember that animatronic dragon. I vaguely remember throwing maltesers into it's mouth one year! That was a long time ago now. I must agree that Tales of the Coast is very poor. I think that a ride like that has the potential to be great - maybe a visual spectacle of under the sea theme?

That would have been great fun - to have a laser shooting game through the ride - but I can't help but think the ride is too short for it.

Having said that, TotC and the Fairytale Fantasy are the only places where a laser dark ride would work.

They've been left to ruin for many, many years now.

Anyway, this is the TotC thread...

I don't recall anything moving other than the boat. Last season there was the "in need of Wd40" sailor type person who lifted a lantern up and down but his lantern wasn't lit and arm not moving this year!

^ Yeah, thats a laughable 'animatronic' - if it can be called that. It only has one movement, yet the contraption that moves it looks like something out of a Saw movie!

I'm sure in the past most stuff used to move in there though? Hazy memory but I'm almost certain the dog / beast thing at the end used to move and make a noise, and the witch used to do stuff too. Even the doors used to move back in the day!

As I remember it, the dogs head used to move, it growled and the eyes lit up red.

When I went in 2011 it only had one eye and on Saturday it had none!
