is it really expense to have just one more made up? Enigma is gonna let the side down this year with the other 3 coasters all looking smart and filling seats.

It's a shame that it's been put on the back burner for the time being however I expect we will see it to revitalised in the future. I just hope it's done well and looks good and its two trains running that's the main thing for me. I hope it doesn't get pushed on the back burner again next season and then forgotten and then left to rot and nothing gets done with it because at that would be a crying shame. Ben did say in another post somewhere or maybe said it personally, something I can't quite remember, that there was some plans sort of going around with enigma which were quite exciting!

So I think we can safely say that this is unlikely to happen now? What do people think about it. I personally think it's a shame that another train is not gonna come.

From the recent video I get the feeling that money would be rather spent on replacing attractions, maybe a lesson is learned from the fantastic but problematic refurbishment of Thunderstruck? What do you guys think?

I think any Enigma sorting will come with new ownership which I think will be the next couple of years.

Josh - there is nothing to say another train will not come I just think as you say it is unlikely

What on earth makes you think Loopings are going to sell up in a couple of years? They've invested a lot into the park and so far haven't really seen a return, but they can see that things are on the up, that's why they'll continue to invest. No point investing shed loads for no reason, then to just sell up at a low price.

Yep by continued investment they are increasing the value of their asset. I can't see them selling up anytime soon. It's the nature of the game that ownership will continue to change as investors would look to make a profit on their investment. It wouldn't be for a few years yet though I would imagine.

You never know what may happen in business that is the point I am making - and yes I would agree Josh a couple more to go

Can't see why Loopings would sell at all.

They have a portfolio of parks across Europe and are gradually building them all up to be bigger and better than they were when they took over. There's no logic in them selling. I can't imagine there's a captive audience for buying and I equally can't imagine there are that many small parks worth them investing in in replacement.

It's not like the park is independently owned or hasn't been invested in by it's owners. Just because ownership regularly changed in the past doesn't mean it will always happen.

But the future of enigma is questionable, it so foolish to leave it with one car on track.
Should be a priority for next year.. just get one more train.

The more they invest, the better the park will become, and so will the visitors. In other words, the more they invest, the more this refurb is needed (or replacement)

Somethings gone wrong Matt. Can't post links in the quick reply box, unable to "paste" in the box on the reply page, and unable to insert images via the little image button on the reply page...

I've just had a little play around... It looks like the best way to include a "Photobucket" image in your post is to copy the link marked "Direct" on the Photobucket site. The IMG and HTML links don't work. Once copied, click on the little green tree photo on here, paste the link into the URL box and press OK.

Alternatively, you can save photos to your computer and then click on "Attach Files" to upload.

Not sure why you can't Copy and Paste though, it seems to be working OK for me.

Ah yes, insert image, forgot about that one.

Anyway, back to Enigma, I hope they're going to give the supports a second coat, can easily see through that new paint!

Am I right in thinking that Enigma is only part-way through the repaint? It would be a shame if they went to the effort of repainting the track and then left the supports nearest the queue looking like that.

Yeah that pic is about a week old now. I'd imagine in they're cracking on with it now that the park is closed midweek.

As the 3rd train was delayed to 2015, and it's almost 2017 with no train.. i wonder if we'll get one for next year?

*giggles*

Could another company design trains for enigma? That would be good if the others where otherwise unavailable..... Oh, but it would cost money.

Gerstlauer did some nice trains for RMC at first, that could be good to tie in to the old cannonball theme. Have the bottom of the crater filled with water, repaint it black and brown (or some similar colour to tie into the theme), it could fly through wrecked ships like, well, cannonballs. Theme up the embankments, build a sea/naval fort on the side for theming, spruce up the queue a bit..... If I won the lottery.....

Yeah anyone can make the trains, but they won't want to spend that money.

As if we went the entire season without a picture of the repainted Enigma!

Nah it has new colours, brighter red track and dark red supports. Similar, but not the same.

It's the same, the old paint had just faded that's all.

Meh, I don't like the new colours. And yep, the supports are lighter red and the track is kind of brownish red.

The issue is that new trains would, as stated, cost a lot. The money for the trains would conflict with budgets for new attractions. I suppose as long as Enigma still mostly functions there isn't much of a reason for refurbishment. If they spend money on decent new attractions and not Enigma then fair enough, they'll be able to market something new more than refurbishments. But, what I'm saying doesn't really apply when you get attractions like hyperdrive (waveswinger doesn't apply here because it's actually pretty good). I know what I would have wanted the budget to go on. Or, of course, all of my theory crafting could be utter rubbish (probably).

Well one new train on the track isn't much of a refurbishment, all we ask is for at least one new train.
I like the waveswinger also, it was a welcomed return. But those dodgemes. *shudder*

But if there was to be another train, how would it work in terms of block sections? Do all the brake sections work properly? If they do then it's just a new train, but if not then it's another story (or not, I don't know what a brake run costs).

Does the last brake run completely stop the train before it goes into the unloading station? Can't fully recall.

with two trains running do they need brake block sections?
Even back in the old days i don't recall them ever using them.

I dunno. Just saying that if there where any malfunctions in the systems, like the final brake run or the part between the stations, than it would need fixed. But then what do I Know, I've only ever seen it in it's current state.
