RE: 30 years of Pleasurewood Hills: 2013

There is an area around by the go-karts which looks unused despite the presence of a vending machine.

Those go-karts take up so much valuable space, that section is shot to pieces, plus they look horrid and I don't think it fits the style of the park. It's too late now but that aria would have made an awesome 'kiddie zone' and being right next to the main street it seems a waste having the go karts take up and space. (a coaster could fit in in their I think) ;)

^^^^ totally agree with the karts - others strongly like them here - to me they look awful and the whole area looks run down...when you use to walk through fort fun into the area that once housed the waltzer, pizza gaff, fort, sky screamer, grandma gradys waffle/bakery house it was so much more of a area.

I am sure the death slide could go back where it was

I personally felt that the Waltzer and Sky Screamer period was a poor one. The area became a little confused.

Before they moved those rides in, the area had a very American flavour and was largely play equipment... The death slide, fort fun adventure playground, indoor fun factory, Hillbilly Moonshine, food and shops. It was a nice enclosed section, with a fairly clear theme and style.

Here, here! It was a great area. I remember that indoor play area well; something the park lacks now which is a shame.

But the Waltzer and Sky Screamer themselves were great rides... loved those Waltzers.. they must return.

They were both odd rides and travelling ones...anyone know where they went too ?

Agree with your views Matt. I remember when fort fun was moved into where the parrots now live yet this lasted only a few seasons

The go Karts are great- they shouldn't go - maybe reduce the price though and more would use them, meaning more money for the park.

I like the waltzers a lot too - they span quicker than the magic mouse

Apparently the problem with the go-karts is part fuel cost, part increased mantinence as they are older than the park itself.

bleh

lol  They're a real pain, and I would imagine a healthy cost to the park, lots of  mantinence and they're usually the cause of accidents in the park. I know i'm in the minority but I believe their the worse thing to happen to the park in terms of attractions. Just my opinion.

yes i agree with the karts being a bad addition - they could have gone elsewhere perhaps like behind fireball that way leaving fort to be developed

Near the castle and lake perhaps. There seems to be lots of old theming dumped in the forest. Like the many animals originally in the miniature golf and then the Veteran cars for a few years. It looks like a graveyard for old props and theming.

How old is that picture Clarence? That isn't there anymore?

One day. Very soon. A guy who works in marketing will be taking a black bin liner into the forest...
