Pleasurewood is screaming out for a new thrill coaster, a MS spinning coaster would be perfect for Pleasurewood, or perhaps we need something with Inversions to bring more of the thrill seekers in! However Spinning Coasters appeal to both families and thrill seekers.

It all depends on how well the park does I guess, if it's willing to pay out for another staff member and running costs. And as things are at their best since.. forever I think the park to ride this success for a long as they can, keep momentum going forward.

It's not the running costs and staffing that will affect any new ride purchase - its the initial cost. For a new coaster the park would be needing to spend probably £3m+!

and planning permission
do other parks have such similar issues with planning permission/complaints regarding noise/view etc?
The park tends to be under staffed as it is, I doubt they want more wages to pay. I know from personal experience of being let go due to a few quiet days and the park lost money (nothing new back then) money had to be saved so staff were kicked out, It's all well and good having all theses rides but they've got to be operated, and maintained.
I dunno about you lot but where I live we can hear the speed boats when their on.. this usually takes place on a Thursday evening!!! If we can tolerated that during after work hours then im sure people can handle theme park noise during the day. It's much nicer to listen to theme parks than a bloody droning speed boat which sounds like an over sized bumble bee. I know im simplifying things but honestly those boats are far worse.

do Alton Towers/ Thorpe Park etc get similar complaints as PWH?
Alton Towers is famous for it's complaints from local residents namely "The Ropers" who complained about Oblivion and managed to get the sound bite at the top of the lift hill removed. Thorpe Park, as Alex stated, is in the middle of a lake and near Heathrow so I really don't think there are too many noise complaints. Obviously PWH has many complaints regarding noise especially when it comes to new attractions like Wipeout which almost didn't get built. If you guys remember there was a sign on Wipeout which asked for people to refrain from screaming during the ride!
People just love to complain about something, for me it's those blasted speed boats.. (Sorry dad) lol But saying that id never go out of my way to stop anyone from doing anything really... id be more than happy to live near the park.

PWH struggle with noise - but planning isn't too much of an issue - as after all, they were granted permission for what would have been the UKs tallest tower.
Alton struggle with tight restrictions on noise and height. They cannot build above tree level and a lot of local residents complain about the park.
Thorpe can pretty much build almost whatever the hell they like...
Would it be possible to completely cover the SITG? For the price of putting in a large frame cover (has to be cheaper than a complete ride surely?) you could make it seem like a new ride (Alton Towers, Black Hole style), allow it to run in the rain (not only gets rid of lift hill issues, but also makes it a dry place to be at the bottom of the park), reduce wear (steel won't rust, grease doesn't get washed away), and reduce noise for neighbours.

which ride would have been the tallest in the UK? - did PWH nearly have it?

Maybe that could be an option as it might contain some of the loudness of that ride, although Enigma covered would look more impressive
Also what do you all reckon is the most complained about theme park in the UK - is PWH up there at the top?
The drop tower pleasurewood hills was granted permission for would of been the Uk's tallest and in my opinion it has to be Alton towers! The local residents are always complaining!
I think tales of the coast should be re-used for the fairytale ride, obviously more needs to be added. Tales of the Coast looks as if they got together a few manniquins and shoved them in a nearly dark tunnel. Why did they take out Aladdin. Disney World updates or put into storage, I know they are on a completely different scale but they always recycle and never throw anything away.
