Pleasurewood Future?
Permalink Closed

What sort of improvements would people like to see at the park in Future?

Personally I'd like to see Fireball remove and replaced with a Gyroswing

More theming done ala Eggspress around the park. Especially on the log flume and jolly rodger.

I'd love to see a new, high capacity coaster, possibly a wooden coaster, Woody's woody, anyone? Something thats just plain fun and aimed at families but with a ride that you can run around and around time after time.

Do you have any ideas what you'd like to see in the future?

I think themeing on marble madness and maybe a new name for it next for me, and replacement flat for TTT.

Eggspress feels far from polished but could wait....

Go kart area looked tatty as f when i went but again could wait...

So yea, something slung on the ttt base defo gotta be up there next! I saw a weird 360° motorbike gyroswibg thing on youtube, probably has gash throughput but unique.

If money was no object.

Get rid of go karts and replace with a coaster.
New trains for Cannonball, and i agree new theme for MM which never made sense to me.
Sort out the Eggexspress tunnel.. make the ride perfect.
new few flat for TTT site, a new flat for the old sky hooks site and a new flat on the old playground site.
Get rid of kite flyer and mini dodgems replace with new flats.
Turn The Huanted Castle into a dark ride, something extravagant like Hobs but no actors, or make a mini indoor coaster.
Expand the playground, maybe add a second one near the indoor playground.
Get rid of or refurbish the chair lifts.

Loads of things they can do if only they had the money.

Fireball and pirate ship need removing and to market them as thrill rides is false advertising ..replace with a newer model afternurner or top scan and a upside down boat

New trains for cannonball, retube the tidal wave it looks awful...add more flats we urgently need rides...

Look at night time events for Halloween they are so popular at other parks

Resurface the road from the car park to Tesco it's bad now

Repaint wipeout and as bubbles said use that castle. .

I wouldn't get ride of Pirate ship for a upside down one, Pirate ship is a popular ride.

I would love to see some properly themed areas as it would really change the image of the park (the whole 'run down' argument seems to be a common one on tripadvisor). The area around the wave swinger would make a really good entrance area if buildings were put up around it. They could also move the entrance backwards into the car park slightly and could maybe then relocate the carrousel to the front in order to make a 'main street' area.

The cannonball express/jolly roger area could be turned into a pirate themed area; ditch the pirate ship and replace it with a newer Huss that actually works, make it look more permanent (dig it into the ground slightly like blade and fill the dug out area with water), have jolly roger drop into a ship with a narrated backstory of how the ship got there and so on (and ideally replace the existing tower with a permanent Fabbri so that the theming doesn't have to be moved to fold it down). Cannonball could have the crater expanded slightly and a naval-fort style building built to cover the queue. The track could then pass through a ship battle scene. Gerstlauer could hopefully make new trains for it like they did for some of the RMC's. Obviously the blocks would have to work (you could have 2 blocks in between the two stations maybe?). Oh, and add a dark ride to the right of the wave swinger with some sort of tavern scene and theme timber falls into the area somehow.

The existing main street area could be themed into mining; reinstate Hobbs pit, theme marble madness by enclosing it/turning the cars into mine carts, add a few flats in the area (S&S screamin swing and one of those zamperla giant discoveries please!) and put an Intamin double launch LSM akin to Taron in the space currently occupied by the go karts.

I have always thought the eggspress end of the park would suit a theme like the fantasy valley thing at Toveland. Eggspress could be themed into it relatively easily and the area could incorporate a rapids ride (something like river quest at Phantasialand). Replace Fireball with an afterburner that actually works and include it into the theme.

Oh, and expand the park onto the golf course with an RMC and 3 B&M's. I am not living in a fantasy world, honest.

A sky swinger would be nice also a new coaster to replace the go cars

- Replace the old Dodgems with a Ferris Wheel

- Kids coaster in front of Wipeout

- Star Flyer in the back corner of the park (beside the play barn)

- new flat ride to replace TTT

- remove Hyper Drive

- extend timber falls to include an indoor dark ride style section

- S&S space shot where Red Baron is

- small Gravity Group or GCI wooden coaster to replace GoKarts

- replace Fireball with new flat ride

- revamp BOTH miniature railways to how they used to be

- stick a building around the Safari and make it a dark ride

Maybe get a roller coaster simulator similar to ones in America and replace the wavebreaker with a new ride. It's not a fun one to operate on especially in bad weather lol

I always wanted to see a Ferris Wheel on the other side of the lake, so it would really good with the lake in front of it.

I wonder what the chances of building being allowed in the woods behind the cable car given the proximity of the houses off Corton long lane?

^ they don't need to build in the woods when there's plenty of un-used land around the park!lol

I don't know who owns those woods but when i was on park i was talking to something through the fence and he claimed it was part of his garden/property.. i suspect he just had assess into it from his garden.

But it wouldn't be Pleasure *Wood* Hills if there was no woodland.. plus we need woodland not to bulldoze it for a Theme park, it's empty enough as it is and there is other building options that don't involved cutting woodland down.

I was thinking more along the lines of opening it up into an area akin to what you can see at Alton; planting other plants, i.e. wildflowers around the trees and making a garden area away from the rest of the park.

4 new houses have been built with the last one in the corner looking onto the back of the castle theatre .

We wont ever see any significant development at the park ( not that I can see for the forseable future ) - the visitor numbers just don't justify it for the investment to be put in.

We have rides that don't even function correctly, poor capacity on another and one still stuck in the ground it does not bode well with first time impressions and local's alike this is why its suffered so bad in recent times.

The last major thing that gave the park the boost was the year MM opened ( coupled with good weather ) that success should have been leapt on with new flats and the fixing of the ones we have.

They own a lot of land around there, and lest not forget the sum of cash Tesco paid them for some of the land which was then part of Warners too

I think we have been lucky over the years looping have given the park money but it’s been wasted too many managers over the years with different ideas stupid investment like Hyper Drive wave swinger we had great restaurants and gift shops/woodys candy store something like that anyway they have now all been replaced with half job work
To be hornist the parks gone backwards over the years

Wave swinger was s fine addition, they just shouldn't have pulled up the boat ride for it.
There still is a candy shop.

Is Tony's still on?

I don't know why Martyn keeps saying to get rid of Mini dodgems when they're in the midst of refurbishing them! They wouldn't do that and then replace them.
