Sooo, first time back in 4 years, a really good day had by all 6 of us. Aged 31,26,27,26,7,6.
Arrived at 09:30, booths opened to purchase bands at 9:45, gates then opened at 10:00...
A screen in the booth showed cannonball express as closed as we know (saw no work on it all day though) and the mini dodgems (the facias of this are half removed and the track area piled with timber presumably from eggspress refurb... I have a feeling these wont return as the others were running well, 6 or 7 cars i think, and yes the middle section is now usable...) and...... wipeout.... This was repeatidly testing though and was ready to go by 10am and removed from closure list.
Sooo moby dick first with the kids, seemed ok, filmed like 3 seconds of pirate ship.
Wave swinger next... Very nice, clean, good landscaping in that middle area. Old themeing boat from the aladdins cave still lay in the bushes and some of the waterway still present.
Rootin tootin next and problem number one..... It was PITCH BLACK throughout, told ride opp at the end and came back later and all UV lighting was then on. All enjoyed this though and good throughput, counted 3 carts.
We headed down to baloon rays and eggspress next, ok they look ok from a distance but both the baloons and eggspress train seem to have been done in matt paint, train already beginning to mark up and scuff! Train only running max of 18 people as it cant get up the hill. Felt rougher than i ever remember in the low middle section. Inside of tunnel needs paint, and the track has defo not been fully painted, the supports for the rest of the old tunnel just rusty coloured and that stray chunk of old tunnel still left on the steels.
Chair lift looking tidy and opened at 12 but looked slow, every one was filled though.
Paddle boats looked tidy, about 4 on the lake, saw some old ones scattered in maintenence area.
Fireball had its flashback up not just blue, got a good cycle first go, up beyond 90 degreed twice, 5 more goes through the day this was only repeated once more, most cycles very low and slow. Odd. Same opp all day too.
Wipeout has an issue ive never experienced before but did it every time, it wasnt releasing properly from the second lift hill. Ill upload a video but it would unlatch then grab then unlatch properly... Not nice and defo not right. Hopefully vid will appear later.
Dingy slide thing had water on 2 lanes but was running only 1. Needs a paint.
Soft play looked ok. Land behind it messy.
Ttt bottom section still in situe, couldnt spot the rest of it anywhere though.
Little train ok... Remnants of the second station that never was are still there.
Remnants of lazer queue line still there overgrown.
Big train stank of burning oil all day... Apparantly had a recent hydraulic leak....
Lighthouse broke down early but a tower scaffold was soon up and it was running by early arvo. All rides in kids area looking ok, kids enjoyed them.
Kids twister had maintenence also working on it believe this was also fixed.
Go kart area seriously looking run down. Price still £4 per car which i think is reasonable.
Jolly roger down for 2hrs in the arvo but then i got on it at 5pm... I hate it so much lol
Then the flume broke and maintainence were up top.... Then seconds later marble madness tripped leaving 2 cars stranded but this was quickly running again. Until then it was running 4 cars nicely
Pirate ship.... Not sure what they did to it. Was very slow. See vid.
Parrot and sealionshows good and packed out.
Lesser seen areas of park are looking messy but it seems the team currently have their hands full.
Woody was out and about alot.
All in all a good day... Bits of music here and there, car park looked like it had been well filled. Vouchers for £16 return were handed out on exit.

wow surprised by all the down time, thought they would have got this sorted by now.
Egg express sounds like such a let down in every way but i like to think it's not finished, and it's not much good if it can't get up the hill.. makes you wonder what they did repair because in certainly wasn't that.

It does seem to me that its really struggling on a major shoe string budget. I mean it literally sounds like the rides are all on their last legs. Fireball has its opening ride on a good setting then is just toned down all day which would tie in with the photo Matt posted. Ditch the mini dodgems and get a flat in there...I do agree with you that maybe it wont reopen, or it will probably stay sbno.
Can anything be done about the snake and taking a full load of people? And what about this pirate ship...what a waste...I remember reading from a article how much it use to cost to run it at full height so its cleerly budget wise unless it is broken yet what will people think and see when they see other models skies above this...

I dont get how the pirate ship would cost more to run higher as the wheels look hydraulic driven so i guess just additional wear and tear?
With fireball i had a good nose at the controll panel each ride and nothing looked touched or altered between rides, the guy just inserted his key each time and pushed 1 start button it seemed
Finally... Has marble madness always trimmed speed so harshly on the brake sections? Pretty rough...
Anybody able to get this 17mb video up of wipeouts weird release?
On the whole though it did feel as if the park was finally moving in the right direction, if teething problems iron out on the rides then just maybe the maintenence team will have time to continue other works

Understand Maintenence are sort of fire fighting around the park at the moment, However from what I've seen the park is looking busy so far and reading through trip advisor, lots of positive reviews about staff members! Glad you all had a great day on the park, I hope that the owning group sees this and continues to invest.
In 2017 I think I recall several incidences where the catch car got to the top of the lift and flat out refused to release (though eventually did so no evacuation was required). It also had occasional issues joining with the train at the station (neither of these issues were generator related which I understand used to be a key cause of breakdowns and maybe still is?). However, I don't think such issues are that uncommon as I witnessed it happen in 2015 at pleasure island and last year at Walibi Sud-Ouest in France. On both occasions the catch car got to the top of the lift and would just stop, causing much credit anxiety in the case of the latter...
I remember reading about that back then, this is on the second hill though

9:45 in on this themeparkworldwide vid from opening day it was perfect unlike when I visited so perhaps that's why it was initially going to be closed ... glad I wasn't going mad lol, time will tell if it gets worse, breaks, or gets sorted
