There's a lot of new music around the park I've noticed, Jolly's new pirate music is very menacing. They still haven't made the toilet cubicles bigger so you still have to straddle the loo to shut the door behind you!

Fireball is a different model to Vortex, But the change did hapen when they were all closed. Ideally I would replace Fireball with a brand new afterburner which would be able to swing at full height and find a way for it to fit with the Barnyard feel to the bottom end.

Not sure Fireball needs a farm yard theme it's not quite in the farm zone, i still think it's been toned down to appeal to a wider audience.

Perhaps now we have a decent manager we could get some honest answers regarding swing height on fireball and pirate ship... And maybe even ttt as the base is still in place

Jolly Roger had music last year, it was very good. They've added a lot of music to the park recently, and it really makes a difference.

The paint job doesn't look great, but I guess it's not finished yet. Brown definitely suits the pirate theme better than white and purple.

oh the base is still there... rolleyesthanks for confirmation... that's quite lazy... I don't think we will get a proper answer at all, its just a shame. Neither can be classed as thrill rides

I'm pretty certain it's up to the ride operator on how high fireball goes

It can only be down to cost cutting from the park. Save on the wear and tear of the parts if the rides aren't being run to their full potential.

Or the ride is just knackered and they dare not run it on a better setting in case it breaks itself haha...

Trouble with it and the pirate ship is that now they’re old they are at a higher risk of breaking down and so you’re probably right Martyn! They could do with investing in a decent thrill flat that isn’t a travelling model just to keep a balance in the park after a few years of family orientated investments.

As for TTT’s base still being sat there - either they have hope they can resurrect it or they see it as a decent place for a replacement in the medium term and so don’t want to spend a lot of money removing what’s left. Yes it is unsightly but why bother spending a lot of money breaking up a huge concrete pad just to potentially put it back in the future...

It’s a shame really. The Pirate Ship doesn’t get high enough to actually leave the base. It’s a shame because decent pirate boat is quite a thrilling ride.

It's a little embarrassing really, I mean ships like black bucanuer or bounty are brilliant models, even the blade at Alton still packs a punch. Ive just seen some photos of tidal wave taken today, man that's looking a right mess

Yeah, there's no real excuse tbh. It's even had a major refurb this winter just gone.

Add in Hyper Drive to the mix, and it really is as if they're trying to keep their energy bills to a minimum.

With regards to TTT, it's more than the concrete base that's sat there, the main lifting arm is still there! All it needs is a little sign saying "new ride coming soon" and that will change the entire image of a SBNO ride for regular guests.

I keep hoping they'll replace tidal wave with something far more interesting.

I refuse to go on the pirate ship when its quiet (longer cycles) because for some bizarre reason it seems to make me feel ill when I have no complaints to report from buccaneer or bounty/blade, nor with the majority of flats. Swinging and not making it to full height over and over again for several minutes seems to make me feel crap when I would have no complaint from any other pirate ship that gets to a decent height.

All that incredible strip down of the huss for it to still be embarassing to watch. I echo martyns thoughts on a sign on the old ttt base and the toning down of rides etc which is purely to save cash

This! Thought it was just me haha! When it’s quiet they have it going on FAR too long of a ride cycle.

Apparently guests have been moaning the chips were too soft, so they altered the machine and then they started complaining the chips were too hard... lol and one of the lads drops things on the floor but cooks it anyway, and keeps taking his gloves off to handle the food (without washing) yuck.

Hyperdrive is running okay now, much better than it was running in TPWW video, although I can't see it lasting too much longer. Pirate ship used to be manually controlled but now is just a case of the operator turns a key and leaves it to run so they don't even have any control over how high it goes. Timber Falls was on three boats today with 2 boats off the track.

Do the cars still stall when you drive through the middle where the patrician used to be because there is a power shortage? It was making the queues awful last year because people would stall and the ops would have to stop the cycle to push them back to the edges. When the power was cut at the end of the cycle people would just let them drift back into the middle and they would have to be pushed back to the edges again...

Just having a chat with my mate and they have season passes he says the whole area around the mini dodgems looks a eyesore and that the pirate ship really was an embarrassment and he said it felt like it was faulty as it didn't even swing

From this weeks advertiser and I guess across all of their catchment area papers . Clearly a slow day for news yet not good for tourists and locals to read this over Easter with such good weather especially when it's not even a story. I'm sure the photos will be the wrong orientation, despite being loaded the right way

I'm not sure why your images keep doing that, sorry Coolskin.

Just took a quick drive up here. Car park not too bad, just watched the pirate ship cycle ,it barely leaves the park position...I mean what on earth!! If your in the middle you will get nothing of it at all and I could swing higher on a park swing. Hope this good weather is a good start for all this 2019 season
