Because it's been brought up in a few different places now.
I also have reason to believe that it's true, but I'm not going to say anymore. Does it really matter? I'm hardly a n00b that loves to spread rumours. You don't have to believe me.
Word on the street is it was going to be a new Enterprise.
But why would they mention it? if it's not going to be open By Easter they can't advertise it. And there's not point doing a 'coming soon' angle because look what happened to the play area (opening September 2017) they're better off not making anything official until they know for certain it's happening. If it is happening it'll be for summer season.
Not sure where this Tempest rumour started, if they've got their eye on something like that then fine, but until it's set in stone they can't really talk about it. Although it's is nice to know what's going through their minds.
When i asked the park about this years plans i was told to "wait and see" i can't imagine they were referring to food outlet, a show or a playground.. because we kinda knew about them anyway.
But you know sometimes plans fall through (strong man contest) it might turn out they can't get the ride they wanted, someone else might have put in a higher bid, or budget was spent on something else. Point is, they haven't mentioned it yet because it's not yet a real thing.

yes enterprise was always the goal, the one looked at prior to MM purchase needed too much work, considered location was going to be across from the trick or treat doors
To be honest my gut feeling is there will be no new rides this year, but i'm optimistic and hopeful and that they're just keeping quite till they can announce something.

Small advert in the waveney advertiser this week showing what we've already seen.. Half page spread on the pleasure Beach showing new on the disko ride pic. Lol
2018 season postponed until Tuesday 3rd April due to predicted long term weather forecast. They will review if it changes. Mixed reviews have been given

An unusual decision, particularly this far in advance. Is the weather expected to be exceptionally bad on that weekend? I can't see anything particular on the local forecasts.
Just cold that's all. Anglia said tonight snow was unlikely. To be fair if its cold less will visit the park so probably save them cash in the long run. Let's see if its reviewed
It is really odd. I wonder if this is a cost saving measure to ensure all of the days they open are sufficiently busy. Just seems strange that they would choose to be closed on the days when a higher percentage of parents are likely to be off work. Do PHW pay staff extra on bank holidays, meaning their costs are higher on those days?
it's meant to rain all week anyway, even if they were open they would have to close.
No staff would not be paid extra for working bank holidays, it's part of the leisure industry and there for you do not get overtime working holidays. I'm not sure if anyone does theses days but officially, certainly not if you're part of the leisure industry.

It's flat pay for sure. Look east just showed a mild yet mostly dry at mo easter. Certainly no snow. I reckon it's down to cost cutting for sure. Chance of a few showers that's it
Just had a facebook event flash up to say its starting april 3rd. So seems regardless of the weather it wont open till AFTER easter. I am sure that as far as I can remember apart from before it had rides at the very very start when it was a car boot this will be the first time weve had no easter opening.
in recent years it has moved to good friday opening where as it would use to be about a week before as per the main parks... this could hit them hard if it does remain dry, many comments on their site seem to reflect this
Yeah Friday and Sunday should be ok, but it's too late now for them to overturn the decision.
But at least they wont lose any money, if they open and get less that 300 visitors they're losing money.
Maybe the books for the previous five years have shown it's not profitable, But i thought they would have tried to open for easter weekend. but i dunno. i think they're made the right choice.

After a mostly dry until around 3pm good Friday a dry Saturday and predicted dry Sunday too its very bizarre. Went past Yarmouth yesterday and saw large ques at sealife and Albert was busy at pleasure beach. I then saw the empty no flags up road to pwh. Very odd. I wonder how much damage this will do in particular to its local audience it so desperately needs back on side. and was this a hq decision or a local one. Admitted its not been a heatwave by any sorts yet it's now third day and it's been virtually dry during its main operational hours, granted easter Monday looks crap
