Well chills opens today and its the last week of the season? In this week's waveney advertiser there is a chills advert and description of what's on offer yet again NO mention of the fireworks..why...small trailer unit just near corton my junction advertising chills too. Plus after 3pm weekdays yet 1pm on the bangs day the mini train will be converted to horror train. Assumingly just some Halloween hanging decorations from the asda aisle in the tunnel by tidal wave. Meanwhile pleasure beach yarmouth advertised it's last push of the year with a 15% discount and they mention their firework display in this advert

Judging by the past and how much promotion use to go into the fireworks, yes. The traditional Sunday end of season was always one of the busiest days of the year....We use to have the fireworks fiesta weekends for a while too so double bangs and the promotion was always high. I remember attending one night a few seasons back on the now Saturdays they do them and the park was virtually empty of guests - seemed such a waste. Lets hope the crowds do come this Saturday. Plus saw a clip of the horror train on facebook. stitch looking character disguised as a tree that then runs after the train ! and I suspect some more stuff in the tunnel by tidalwave.
Yeah it has been like that for the last 2 seasons
I was at the park yesterday and Im afraid to say it was very quiet I guess the weather had a affect on that wich was a shame because I thought they put on a good show yesterday
It was utterly dead today as well, but I have to say that they put in a decent effort in relation to Halloween with scare actors/decorations and music through most of the park including the main street.
Have been going to the park for over 22 years without missing a year, But this year did not go to the park, if the park stays like this I can not see going again.
^ It's not been that bad though. Yeah there are certain aspects that need addressing, but this year we did see a new indoor play area, new show and a new restaurant. Jolly Roger also got a bit of clean up and now has a soundtrack.
They're doing a good job in areas I never expected them too, but they're failing on the basics, like the empty ride plots.
Jolly roger didn't have any music yesterday. Also I don't know if this has been mentioned before but fireball now doesn't open until 12 (along with the balloon ride which I didn't even see working and the bumper cars). Fireball was also crap. The gondolas from TTT are just stuffed down the side road next to enigmaball express. MM looked like the paint was fading a fair bit (though it was grey all day so it might be all right in the sun. Hyperdrive is still awful (I swear there used to be a patrician in the middle? Now if you drive over the middle the cars stop and pick up no power and some cars barely move regardless). Wipeout was in a good state (even though vekoma mk 1200 trains now seem to murder my shoulders) and the whole middle area of the park from the wave swinger to the main street was in good shape, especially with the landscaping around waveswinger (if all the rides where built in as well as the waveswinger then the park would be on to a winner). Jolly roger also looks much better with the black board around the platform and cannonball express's brakes don't murder you as much.
Be interesting to know the gate figures for 2018 with all the good weather we had. The year we had atmosfear do the chills was the best they did as it really drew the crowds in, yet that was not the route they wanted to stay with. Although the mini railway for chills 2018 did feature a chainsaw and a black hooded man when it stopped in the tunnel which is something I would have not expected from them at all. It's a shame they don't do the later closes with rides at dusk, just a few things that would make it better but I just don't think people would support it. We desperately need new rides. They bring people in, you can see what wicker man did for Alton this year alone. Yes ok two different parks I know yet attractions bring people in and returning people too. Surely france could afford a couple of decent flats to fill in the gaps! Nice little message on social media from the park too saying thanks and goodbye until 2019.
I've always thought that an air race would fit really well on the TTT plot. It could be themed to the RNLI or coastguard or something and would obviously fir in with a maritime theme along with wipeout. The concept art for the Abenteuerland looks nice. I really like air races because they aren't too extreme (kind of like enterprises) and they have a nice mix of positive and lateral G (and hangtime).
They would already have a good flat ride in the shape of fireball if it cycled better. It only got to 90 degrees rather than the 120 afterburners are supposed to get and only had 3 full height swings. It used to run to height once and then slow down and get faster again, and the cycles where much longer. I got to ride it at night at PWC in 2016 for about 15 minutes non-stop and it was on par with eagles claw at LWV. If only it could run like that again... This, along with Jolly roger which is really good and a couple other nice flats would make a world of a difference.

So that's 2 of the parks in the chain that have received an Air Race recently! Surely Its Just a matter of time now?lol
Can never understand why Loopings don't buy rides in packages, so they can add stuff to more than 1 park at a time and it obviously would save them a lot of money.
So some major sewer work taking place just outside the park, starts at tesco delivery bay and possibly over to the a47 and goes up to the footpath that takes you to the beach. It goes across the back of the old overflow car park by gunton hall. Plus wipeout having work done and a further crane just to the left of the pirate ship. Balloon rays and fireball cars all on the dodgem rink and the pay kiosks were being painted. Plus the mcdonalds sign remains, never mind the on-site food of pizza that was meant to stay open late . Oddly the chairlifts are still intact....
sorry the photos are the wrong way round, they were not when I loaded them in

Be nice if they told people what they're planning for 2019, i wouldn't want to pay all that for a season pass unless i had some idea what i was getting for my money.. considering they have lost loads of attractions over the past 3 years and haven't replaced them.

Yeah I totally agree
they did the same thing last year and with Christmas coming up I would like to think that if there was to be a new ride they would confirm it now so they sell the passes for Christmas
comments on the season pass offer via social media say they feel unsafe on the rides and moaning about the lack of family offer and renewal too plus people comparing to merlin parks which is a daft thing to do. As for 2019 I doubt we will see anything new at all

If nothing new comes for 2019 it will show that the owners clearly don't care about PWH. Look what other parks in the chain have received recently; Hellondoorn got a Zamperla disco in 2017 that has nice landscaping, Bagatelle got an air race in the same year and a carousel in 2018 and Fort Fun are getting an air race next year (probably a package with Zamperla?), whereas we have had a bumper cars that still doesn't work properly 3 years after opening and a chair swing in the place of a dark ride since 2014 (target trail doesn't count as new and is far worse than what it replaced).
