Pirate Ship

Just been to Plasurewood Hills today in around 2 years. What wrong with the Pirate Ship! It doesn't seem to do anything now other than swing slowly with a massive scrapping noise on the wheel for a massive duration of time. People on the ride even shouted at the man operating it, to stop it as they were bored on one of the rides on it (one kid even fell to sleep on it)?It ran for ages seemed like 10 minutes. Was one of my favourite rides and Fireball also seems a lot more tame.

I understand it must be hard operating PWH. Especially the Rattle Snake no longer operating, but now the other rides are on there final legs, their won't be anything left soon? Them dodgems near the Rattle Snake also look in a right state. They started fixing them with a spanner in the middle of its operation.

welcome..

The pirate ship has not operated at full height or operation for probably near on 10 years now or more likely to cost too much to fix properly so its run at a very low level

Fireball rarely achieves what it did when we first had it bran new and again as above its run on a tame usually only one full swing at full height to save costs - and even then it doesnt always go full. If you look at the sub forum stuff on fireball you will see pictures and a discussion on the ride in more detail.

Thanks for the nice welcome! I have noticed the Pirate Ship in the last 10 years slowing down, just this year it seems to have got even worse, and now hardly does anything.

Pirate ship's cycle is faaaaar too long - you either see people coming off looking hideously bored or more than a little nauseous!

It needs to be to get anywhere near full height doesn’t it? It wasn’t running when we went and to be fair wasn’t really missed.
