The screeching sound on the waveswinger seems to have gotten much worse. I wonder what is causing it to make such a noise?Ā
We also went on the old Pirate ship, but I wasn't happy. The state of it is really starting to put me off. It's also really jolty when the wheels kick in and out to power it. I do wonder if it's the last year we will see it?
I enjoyed a burger and we had a ride on the chairlift. One odd thing about that is that one section of cable seems to have loads more chairs on it than others. It seemed to sag when the big group of chairs came past us. Is it just me just seeing things? Lol
my daughter got me on the Pleasurewood Ponies, but I wasn't spotted by any friends..... lol
The Pirate Ship has been in a poor way for some time now. Am I right in thinking that Lawrence once said the motors were knackered? It's a legendary ride at PWH tho, I can see it going anywhere. Would be good to see it replaced by a model in much better condition mind.
The wheels don't reach far enough upwards to get it to swing to the highest point so it just hovers around at mid height for a while as far as I remember. It actually made me feel a bit ill last time I rode it because the op ran it for about 5 minutes (even though I never usually have an issue with flat rides).

Wave Swinger sounds awful right now, very off putting. Pirate ship wouldn't start when I went on this morning. Ride is very poor now, not swinging properly at all. The park seem to have tried to make the ride longer though to compensate. Fireball also seems to not be swinging quite as high as it did before the incident in the US.
I've never had an issue with practically any flat. The only other things that have ever made me feel ill so far have been alakazam at pleasure island and them gravitron/wall of death things. IĀ sat on eagles claw several timesĀ in a row last year with no complaintĀ and I never have issues with any other pirate ships (or PWH's before)Ā but it was something about the long cycle andĀ the ride not making it to full height.Ā
We were back again today for a family trip. My daughter said to me "what's that screaming" while we were waiting to go through the ticket booth.
I told her it's not screaming, it's just the waveswinger finishing its cycle! It's SO loud now. Surely it must be doing damage to its insides??
My wife wanted to go on the pirate ship, so we sat at the back to the right as you get on. The big jolt seemed to be affecting the people at the other end on the downward swing. Looking at some old movies on YouTube, the swing used to be much bigger.
The Safari made me laugh as another abandoned car has been added to the other one at the entrance to the ride. It's back wheel seemed to have sheared off! I did think it added a certain degree of extra adventure theming to the safari tour... would we make it back in one piece??? Lol
The stilt walker guy was fantastic today. Very entertaining! He was out in the car park when we got there making the big queues happy.
A good day was had by us Hemp's! The annual passes we bought at Christmas have been well worth it.
We aim to get some more this Christmas for next year, so let's hope they have made some profit this year to sort out the niggles on the old rides.
years ago when we had the original one it would spin then slowly get higher, then it went straight up in its last seasons. as for the newer one it seems to have followed suit
