Rattlesnake will come down to budget as indeed would a replacement. Its a very popular ride still especailly with the kids so hopefully something can get resolved over winter.
Thunderstruck has run all season with no lift , even Huss can not get there heads around that one.
The former cine 180 slot which had the e plane things on has all become one nice area for the kids including the woody copter. Looks good. Im fairly sure where the hooks were is now the pumpkin hut for halloween where the kids cut them up as it was there when I was on site for the day during fireworks.
Oh yeah i forgot about Rattlesnake, i'm sure that will be their number one priority, but i personally see it going the same way as the castle theater and nothing will happen to it.
Trouble is they've left themselves with so much to do, TTT should be removed and replaced, but then after pulling Up TOTC i'm expecting more development around that aria at least a new ride.
I would be surprised if Rattlesnake, old dodgems are closed and most of that end of the park closed as they once planned, Maybe the Snake is being moved?
We shall wait and see.
My crystal ball is showing me an Retro-Enterprise... hahahahahah :P

The new style enterprise that pleasure island had wouldn't be alakazam would it? If so then no thanks... Horrible, horrible ride. All for a normal enterprise though.
Should be getting some updates soon shouldn't we? Easter is in a few months so i'm looking forward to hearing what they've been doing since closing and what they're planning on doing next.
I'm particularly excited about the Rattlesnake and what's happening here.

A shame to read that Rattlesnake won't be reopening, the post on Pleasurewood's Facebook page doesn't say anything in the way of any potential replacement either.
Seems that PWH will be down to three coasters in 2017.
Well three coasters might be disappointing but it's not all bad, i mean one of them only has one car and we still have two crap dodgems, an empty theater, one ride that doesn't lift or spin because it's broken and an almost clapped out chair lift.
So lots to enjoy this summer.

We also have a ruined dark ride that used to have a lot of actors and was interesting and now isn't as well as a vekoma contraption that smashes your head in. Still, there's fireball and jolly roger and I'm quite contempt with just sitting on them all day because it's dead......
Hopefully something new will get put in and they don't pull an Alton towers (or a UK merlin as a whole) and remove things with no replacements. Right, I'll stop being such a pessimist now.
How much would a decent flat go for? Wouldn't imagine an air race would cost that much when places like Brighton pier can afford one. Or, even better, a nice afterburner like eagles claw to replace fireball. Again, couldn't cost that much when lightwater valley can afford one. Still, even if not, there's got to something decent they can afford.

But they could have kept TOTC and had the waveswinger.. it could have replaced the other dodgems or TTT.
No new rides doesn't bother me if they're fixing and making good the park instead, i'm ok with that.
But so many attractions are closing. It' just really sad what's happened other the last two years.

Wouldn't have anything to do with the new manager would it? You know, Jolly roger, Hobs pit, MM in three years followed by a complete lack of worthwhile investment and an easily seen degradation. That's quite a contrast. Or maybe they blew all the budget on those three years.
The thing is that PWH needs new attractions to draw people in. With GYPB, people can pay for a few rides and then go off somewhere else (I'm on about holiday makers and the likes here) whereas at PWH, it's a normal theme park so people will feel compelled to get the full money out of it. However, what does PWH really offer over GYPB to the average person? Other than Wipeout and maybe some of the other thrill rides, I don't know. If they keep adding decent things people will be drawn in, but if not then they are relying on a market that's kind of non-existent.
it depends on budgets and the market that is being aimed for - which is really families not really even teen or thrill anymore. From remberance the original cash injection was across three years so that will have gone now. France control virtually all aspects and have the final say on what goes in - it was france who wanted the waveswinger in where it is for example.
The park of course puts its own view fowards yet the big guns will topple it as any firm and I know that 2016 season they were happy with the parks performance. Its always easy to look from the outside
I think its safe to say that decisions are not made locally but are made by the owners Looping Group. The managers are there to manage on not to make decisions on investment. That is totally out of their hands.
There was no reason to have bulldozed TOTC just yet, the Waveswinger which is great could have still been in that aria, (Red barron site, which could have then moved to the Sky hooks site) but the way they've done it we have less attractions and more empty space, (it would have been cheaper this way too if budgets are low) which would have been ok if they planned to carry on developing it the following year which they're not. Things seems to just get half done, lacking a bit of polish i guess.
You certainly don't get a day out at PWH anymore.
And budgets become a puzzle when they apparently spend 500k on a second dodgem ride which was unnecessary.

Well if the company think it's fine then who am I to judge I guess. Still, I shall carry on dreaming about winning the lottery, buying PWH, buying the golf course and extending the park onto it.
But 500K on the dodgems, WHAT??? Can't be right. I thought they brought Marble madness from flamingo land for something like 400K...
Hopefully we'll hear something in the next few days. We know where the issues lie, it's just if the owner is willing to invest. Frustrating times. For some reason the park reminds me of my football team. Awful owner, powerless manager.
