Dreamland Margate announces it’s 2015 Halloween programme of events.

Dreamland introduces its first scare festival ‘Screamland’ with principal designers AtmosFEAR! Scare Entertainment, Europe’s biggest supplier of scare attractions.

Screamland begins 16th October; tickets go on sale 12.00pm, 11th August.

Screamland events are divided into day and evening activities, daytime for small children and families and evenings for ages 10 and over.

Additional Halloween event programme announced, including Rocky Horror Picture Show Singalong and Sink the Pink, ****les and Muscles, Halloween Special.

This Halloween Dreamland Margate, The UK’s original pleasure park transforms into a world of nightmares as it launches its first ever, major scare festival ‘Screamland’.

Dreamland is working with AtmosFear! Scare Entertainment, winners of multiple awards, including the only European attraction to win Excellence in Design award in 2013, to produce an actor lead, theatrical festival of fear.

Eddie Kemsley, CEO of Dreamland says:

‘The Dreamland programming team, award winners themselves for scare attractions are delighted to be working with AtmosFEAR! Scare Entertainment to bring the first ever scare festival to Dreamland. Their creativity and production values are inspirational and we are confident that by working together, Screamland will become one of the most talked about Halloween scare festivals in the South East of England and worth travelling to Margate for.”

Jason Karl, Creative Director of AtmosFear! Scare Entertainment Says:

AtmosFEAR Scare Entertainment are excited to bring the first ever scare festival to Dreamland Margate. For its first year we have pulled together our years of knowledge and technical no-how to create an event like no other. In using the latest technologies and creative processes from advanced special effects to Hollywood produced music, Screamland will be an immersive and theatrical scarefest.

Screamland will run from 16th Oct until Halloween on 31st Oct and as night falls the site will be transformed into an experience of six fully themed interactive and immersive scare attractions, which cleverly play on the history of different elements of Dreamland. From ‘Festino’s Forgotten Fun House’ based on an old style travelling freak show by a crazed show man, echoing the site’s days as Hall By the Sea (prior to becoming Dreamland in 1919) through to ‘The Final Cut’ which travels back in time to 1950’s horror B movies, all set in Dreamland’s Dark Space under the Dreamland Cinema.

Screamland introduces sideshows with new frightening seaside characters such as ‘Punchello’ a twisted version of the original Mr Punch and ‘Ice Scream Man’ Margate’s darkest and grungiest ice scream vendor.

The theatre of the event will be delivered by over 60 professional actors, trained in the art of scare acting and many of who will be recruited locally in Thanet. Auditions days will be announced shortly.

For our younger guests Screamland offers a less heart racing, family friendly visitor experience during the daytime. ‘Abracamabre’ will offer a mystifying and magical maze of mirrors, where guests can follow the great Victorian magician ‘The Amazing Mystero’ searching for a rabbit, escaped from his top hat. Taking inspiration from Dreamland’s Menagerie cages, ‘Monstrous Menagerie’ a zany Victorian Menagerist character will entertain and repel children with his collection of spiders, lizards and bugs.

To compliment Screamland, Dreamland will add to twisted theme with a host of additional Halloween events, such as a Singalong The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Dreamland Dance Club’s Monster Mash and Sink the Pink’s, ****les and Muscles, Halloween Special.
