I'm not sure speculation is accurate, given that the opening calendar stops at September. If they had a quiet October last year it may make sense to not open then. It makes no sense that they would not advertise October as opening if they intend to do so. Alarmingly ending the season earlier and earlier a route that Camelot went down before it closed.
I did check 2014 and it was open all weekends in September as it is in 2015.
It will be odd as all other attractions will be open - well GYPB for example yet I guess it has come down to attendance and cash and if this is the case then I would rather have the budget put into something else - after all we never use to open for October half term
way back in the 80s and early 90s they didn't do October half term...... season end was just that usually at start of October, the old maps/leaflets will tell us
actually 1995 was October half terms first.. "reduced entertainment at a reduced price "

Regardless of whether they are running their Halloween event, it seems very strange to close in September and miss the October half term trade. Also, I thought the Halloween event was popular?
They have now confirmed their stance as "not ruling it out" and will announce it a little later (assuming it happens).
To me this is a slightly bizarre approach, however I will trust their judgement.
Was this confirmed on the phone or ? first season in 20 years if it doesn't go ahead
As I've just said in the news thread, a spokesman contacted me directly after my site reported how the opening dates on their website showed a 27 September close.
Still seems a strange move yet perhaps based on budget and attendance. Yet October is a way off as yet so maybe it will also depend on how 2015 main season goes. Many will be asking the park why they won't/may not be open and it will be probably the biggest major attraction in east Anglia not to open for Halloween 2015 if this goes ahead.
