So, we all know that the Jolly Roger drop tower looks like it just came fresh from the local fair. Hopefully there are plans to make it look more permanent and fit in with the parks neat appearance.
BUT, if you were in charge, would you stick to the whole pirate theme, or maybe change the name to a more generic one and just make it look nice (a la Detonator @ Thorpe).
The original idea to have the tower come out of a broken ship does sound amazing, but I get the feeling that's never going to happen now.
I'd love to see it themed and made permanent. As Shawn said in his vlog - no one goes near it. I believe if it was made to look that way more people would go on it. I think the fairground nature puts people off. I think the ships mast idea is cool but if not then a name change would work.
j think it's good where it is and it is one of the highest points of the park. It looked awesome against the dark sky the other night when a storm was brewing
nah it needs to be more central, a focal point. not plonked on the first empty space.
Been saying it for years, needed to go where the flying planes are. It has a quality queue line, a grassy bit for people to sit and watch, better view from the ride, and a can been seen pretty clearly from all other parts of the park. Where it currently is it just stands out like a sore thumb, and just isn't athletically pleasing. It's one of the parks major rides and needs to be done proper.
Even the Kite flyer site would be better than where it is now.
It could be re-themed and made to look like a Mine shaft to tie in with Hobs?

I agree that Jolly would be more popular at a central position. Since the Sea Lion show entrance moved and Enigma is just awful at putting people through the area is lost. It needs a bit of atmosphere and revitalisation to get it busy again. Plus I agree with Shawn in his vlog that there is very little atmosphere in certain areas of the park and down there is one of them.
I don't see why the play aria can't be moved to the section next to the snake (as no ride can to put there)
PWH never seem to make the most of the land available to them, why waste a plot for a ride with the playground, yet leave a plot which can't have a ride empty. Even if they went a season without a playground it wouldn't hurt.

Playgrounds are important and this is where PWH lack. PWH used to have Fort Fun and an indoor area with balls etc both of which made way for the go karts. I have noticed at the likes of Paultons and Devons Crealy that they have lots of playgrounds and massive indoor ones which the kids love. This takes people away from the rides, let's parents sit down and have a coffee and knackers the kids out. I don't know why PWH have been poor on the playground thing.
