RE: Yesterday's World

It might not be, but chances are....

Though I don't think the current arcades are doing brilliantly, a few of them were boarded up,

What were the main reasons for Yesterday's World closing? Was it already in danger of that before Ben arrived?

I am not sure why it did close, think it was lack of trade or understanding in the place.

Some of the arcades are always boarded up over winter to prevent damage in particular the last one - majestic I think - just after old bourbon street :-)

Yes, I seem to remember there being an article online about a year before that happened about how it was a small waxwork place that didn't really have a bright future. I think Ben was brought in to save it and from the looks of it have it 110% but it just wasn't quite enough!

I think you've got confused Matty, the wax works was up the top end of Regent Street. Completely different to Yesterday's World.

Yesterdays World was Barons Amusement Arcade before for many years. Ripley's Believe It or Not was in the Windmill, then after that was removed the Wax Works from the top of Regent Road was placed in there for a couple of seasons until in was turned into the Crazy Golf.
