Marble Madness

With the mouse talk taking up pretty much all the the 2014 General Discussion topic I thought it would be good for it to have it's own topic considering it is confirmed - we just don't know what it is yet. smile

Coolskin has heard rumours that it is the Maurer Sohne model that used to reside at Flamingo Land. If it does turn out to be this coaster then I think we could be in for a treat - it'd great to say that PWH has the same coaster as Chessington and Six Flags!

That being said I have had a look at models of this coaster around the globe and they do vary wildly - from the intensely themed to the fairground bare versions.  Here are some videos of the model in order of awesomeness of theme:

Hopefully if we do get this model or similar the PWH could pull off a Crazy Mine type

RE: New for 2014: Mouse Coaster (exact model TBC)

would be nice if it is different to what we have had - BUT its still investment and still a "new" attraction... I will head up there soon and see what is lurking.... lol

RE: New for 2014: Maurer Sohne - Wilde Maus Classic

Just been watching it on youtube and to be honest I think it's pretty good, a nice addition to the park. I so pleased it wasn't that spinning one we had. This one reminds me of the Enigma little bit with several small cars on the track. Looks huge to, gonna take a lot to make it look special. I wonder if it would be better suited to the pit Enigma is currently in? Hide all those poles and things.

Still hate mouse theme but that's never going to be changed :(

It doesn't look very thrilling via a you tube video I must say =perhaps it was how it was filmed I don't know and is it going to look ugly ? But it is a ride and we need them.

So where has the ride been if it closed at Flamingo in 2012 has it been SBNO or in storage ?

There is so much to do in just over three months - come on pwh get it all sorted before easter.... fingers crossed

Don't be so negative, we don't know what it's going to look like or where they're going to put it yet.
No way will it be read for Easter, I don't think any of the new rides last year were.

I am not being negative at all - I have welcomed this ride as soon as we heard about it - I welcome any new ride - especially as this is a adult and family ride too

I am very excited by this. Looking at the videos that I posted PWH could do a really great job with this and in their own words the did say Hobs Pit was the benchmark for all future attractions so I expect it to be well themed. They look like really great fun rides so this is very welcome news.

It wasn't a particularly loved ride, but I'm excited to have another coaster down the road and I'm also dead excited to see how the park decide to theme it!

I was reading TOwerStreet and the general consensus is it wasn't great. Was it that one that wasn't or the ride model? Looking around the net at reviews it seems to be well received and watching the vids there looks like a few nice elements. I'm very excited but there's always something that puts a dampener on it!

If they can get Enigma and the snake fixed we'll have three cracking coasters, all different too.
I hope this take up the hungry bears site, or better yet, re-locate the rubber boat slide thingy and fill up that spot.
(be even better tucked away behind main street where the go-karts currently are)

had a peek over the golf course this morning on the way to work and all looks quiet and ready for some major moving....so fireball will move to have the mouse in...think its a great spot for the new ride. I just cant see much theming being done or even ready....remember jolly...

agree with bubbles too here about the other rides that need fixing including pirate, fireball, ttt.

It will be interesting to know if team pwh build and make the new ride or others do this while team pwh focus on all the other stuff that needs doing....

Fireball will be relocated to the Hungry Bears Pad.

The whole ride will look as good as new, it hasn't been decided if the team here will paint it or we get an outside company.

TOTC and HoBs PiT will also benefit from a cash injection.

Do you have anything you can tell us about the theme the ride will have?

Glad to hear that the Hungry Bears site will be filled this year... A complaint I've heard a lot of people say is that there are loads of gaps at PWH. This will make that argument more difficult to make, which can only be a good thing!

My only thought regarding Fireball is; how it will look from the back? At the moment, the back of the ride faces away from where people can go... If it's on the Hungry Bears site, won't it be one of the first things you see from the Car Park?

Im sure fireball will get a tidy up, can you see the back from the car park? I thought there was a hedge along there?
It's not were I would have put it but it's still a good move. Being a popular ride it may generate some traffic to that end, The snake, lake, laser and dodgems all being in site and close by. cool.

Umm Mice don't go bang, this make me very happy.

Bubbles see some photos of fireball from my 2011 fireworks finale report...both sides of fireball do look a mess and the front especially ( opp the seats ish ) has lots missing from when it first arrived at the park in 2003

http://pleasurewoodhills.activeboard.com/t45886057/hills-have-eyes-firework-and-laser-finale-trip-report/  bubbles this is what Matt and I mean about fireball from the back...see my photos half way down the page

Maybe a TTT style relocation on the cards?

Yeah but there must be something separating the park and the car park, so the back of the ride will probably never been seen from the car park, the one way I can think of that will expose the back of fireball and riding the big train, as there's a station near by.

Yeah, there is obviously a fence/hedging, but the back board of Fireball is quite tall and is probably visible over the top of it. The whole ride will be visible as you drive in and will be a big part of that skyline that you see as you come around the corner. It needs to look good!

yes i think fireball on hungry will look as you good as you drive in as wipeout does...some of it will be hidden by the hedge so it will help it a bit..,maybe painted green would be better from the back.....
