There is also a article/photos in todays Lowestoft Journal 24/5/13 of Noel Edmonds when he opened Cannonball back in 1995..... There is nothing on the website at the moment. I will always have brilliant memories of that day... I was down there early in the morning not long after 10am when they were testing the ride and one of the engineers said do you want a ride...I climbed down that ladder which is now embedded in the bank by the loading bay and rode round it.. I do have photos of me on it and |I was quite possibly the first member of the public to ride it that Saturday morning...Noel was there later in the day
And, if you can prove you are or will be 30 this year on the gate with formal identification such as a driving license or passport, you’ll get in for free!
This is from the UP article. Is this true as it doesn't appear to be on the PWH Facebook comments?
Yes. I'm almost tempted to go now as I'm a young and handsome 30. Only thing putting me off is the potential queues and sheer numbers I hope will turn up... can they cope?
Well if you get in free and can't ride anything then you've not lost anything.... soak up the atmosphere and enjoy it. I always say a busy park is a fun park.. so boring if rides are half empty. queues aren't that bad, most of the rides get over them quickly. (other than the Pit)

Cope with all rides being available (granted Big Trains a no no but that's long term). Then you have the catering - they must be in a position to handle the sheer numbers visiting and wanting food ALL DAY, NON STOP. LEGOLAND had a 40 MINUTE wait for food at the place near Pirate Falls on Saturday, that's a large chunk of your day taken up, no good. Cope with keeping toilets clean, the park clean, extra first aid cases, extra complaints, extra shows...
Need I go on?
Like I said I hope they get 3,4 maybe even 5 thousand turn up. A REAL test for a set up that's been getting 2K tops recently. I think they will get good numbers on Sunday, they have had a VERY good week so far. Ben, I'd love to know if the week has been well above 'budget' so far....?
He did post that they had their busiest day of the season so far today. I really hope that this weekend is busy, I want to see the place thriving again.
Of course they can cop, they all know what their doing and what's in store. All highly skilled professionals. As long as they don't run out of ice creams. :O

The thing that worrys me is the rides. Seems like Hobs Pit only has 3 cars on it's track, plus 1 train for Enigma, 8 empty seats on Wipeout, Miniature train still getting smaller, Tales of the Coast only have about 3 boats, only loading every other seat on the Chairlift, plus only using 1 slide on Wavebreaker...
^ I dont think that newspaper adverts are that important anymore, on average people spend more time on social networks than reading the paper (especially local ones) and the advertising on Facebook and Twitter has been fantastic. In my opinion it's much better spending time/money on social networks than on newspaper advertisements.

I take it the SITG no longer ha a old cans in the seats? it should be embedded on the track by now?
8 empty seats on wipeout? Whoa.. what's that for? 8 is quite a lot!!!
I sure TOTC used to have at least 4 boats..and that wasn't too long ago.
I wonder how they've got on with Hobs Pit this week.. things might be running a bit more smoothly now?
slide on Wavebreaker might be a cost cutting thing... maybe, need the extra staff members in Hobs? I dunno. Unless they decide what they do day by day, really busy day open both up and on smaller days one of adequate, so it might be open.
