Residents of Corton

Hi :) Does anybody know if residents of Corton get free entry to PWH?

Thanks :)

Hi Lily, First Welcome to the message board, Second, I don't think you do get free entry, but I'm sure that Ben (The Park's PR Guy) will swing by later today and awnser your query for you.

Morning - As of yet, unfortunately no. It would be nice to do something in the future though. :)

Well, They say it has a low catchment area being on the outskirts of Norfolk. But I don't think it does really? It's slap bang in-between Lowestoft & Gt Yarmouth.. on the A12.. and for most of Suffolk & Norfolk is the only "largish" theme park? If more money were spent more people would flood in.. Those who aren't prepared to travel to the likes of Thorpe Park etc or the parks around London. I don't think many people leave East Anglia due to it's relatively bad transport links..

LOL, do you really think they would want to visit PWH?

Despite never truely understanding the benefits, most locals HATE living by theme parks, and PWH is no exception!

Having worked at Alton Towers, the relationship with the local area is very good. - Something to build towards.

I guess the difference with somewhere like Alton is that it brings a LOT of business to local B&B's and pubs. Half of the places in the surrounding area rely on Towers for their business... As for the people around Pleasurewood, they just see it as a nusiance a lot of the time :/

Agreed, but the RELATIONSHIP can always be improved.

Oh yeah, I agree - though I guess it's a hard thing to do when many of the residents have no interest in a theme park and will see it as a noisy waste of space no matter what... Which is a massive shame.

I agree that it's definitely worth a go, but like politics, most people will already have their opinion, and nothing will change that. Especially after the Wipeout fiasco! laughing

Makes me laugh when they move in the aria and then complainer of a theme park.
The noise can't be a huge problem as people are at work during opening hours and it's not like living under an airport and train station which is far more irritating in my opinion. The park doesn't keep you awake at night.

Trouble is other than a few homes, tescos and a holiday park there isn't much to benefit from being near it, and it doesn't have the pulling power like the main a list parks. Adding more rides is ok but you've still got to sell tickets to make it worth wild.
Doesn't help being on the coast either.

Funny you say that, because everyone who complained about Wipeout worked night shifts! ;)

ugh,
I've worked night shifts before, I know what it's like but there's enough standard noise around as it is.
Can't expect life to come to a halt because it suits you.

PWH is something locals should be supporting,  if sounds is an issue I'll house swap lol

And more money can't and wont be spent if turn out is so poor, no people means no money.
