RE: New for 2013: Pleasurewood Paddlers

Maybe if it's cleaned up, and fish are live and well, they might allow people to go fishing?
It's another form of income to the park, I know it's only small but it's a different environment to catch some fish.
Could even hold alittle fishing contest too. lol

When is fishing season???

That would be a bad idea IMO. I've got nothing against fishing but it doesn't belong in a theme park.

I don't mean as an 'attraction'
you need a licence. I live next to a pond and people like to fish there for whatever reason, phw has a large pond, with fish, it's a nice invirioment.. sell it to those who like fishing. Money to be made.

PWH can be more than just a 'theme park' with ride.. they can do other things to bring in money.

Who would pay £19 to go fishing when they could to a lake or river, for free....?

Because a lot of people do pay to fish in certain lakes.. £19 is cheap.
A lot of those other places wont allow new members unless you're related to someone already there, or highly recommend. Some are quite exclusive. My mate pays £150 a year to fish on a certain lake.

Anyway, I would assume people would buy a membership to fish, not a one day fee.

Bubbles. I reckon you are the first person EVER to consider fishing at the PW lake. Madness or Magic. - You decide.

...ain't never going to happen though ;)

Could drain the lake and replace it with a swimming pool ;)
OR is it big enough to whiz round on a speed boat?

Ok, silly ideas. Pedal boats it is.

Zorb balls on the lake... now that's plausible.

No Zorb Balls. Every Holiday Park has them now as a minimum. - Not very Theme Parky...

That's the biggest news of 2013! Thank god they've gone, they literally are on every street corner nowadays.

They do look very 80's, but then that's probably what they're trying to bring to mind... memories of the good old days. I'd imagine they'll look similar but a little fresher when we see them return.

We're pleased to announce the Pleasurewood Paddlers are making a return with their original colours and names! What side will you choose? Apollo or Shuttle? :)

Hmm, I cant see the point in them doing that tbh. I cant even remember this apollo or shuttle nonsense... The colours are gross too, very dated...

But why would they want to make a ride look very 80's? I know they want to recapture the magic that the park used to have, but retro/dated looking rides aren't going to do that.

And my god, what were they thinking back then, spaceship themed pedal boats?!!

Nothing wrong in going a bit retro. They're timeless, and a novelty. Far better that doing some horrid modern design.
As for the names.. well they've got to name them something, that's part of the fun. So why not use the same names and pay tribute to your roots? A lot of kids wouldn't be any the wiser anyway.

At least the lake is back online, Anyone remember that rope bridge thing they once had? It was terrible.

Oh and there have been many boats named Apollo, and I think there's a Shuttle boat.

That's mainly point. Most people will just be pretty confused at spaceship themed pedal boats.

And tbh, I went on the pedal boats before they first left, and I cant remember any of this apollo stuff...

Those names are news to me too, I must admit! However, they are drawing attention to the fact that this is a bit of a "blast from the past" in their marketing of the attraction so I recon they can be forgiven for the cheesy names and colour scheme.

I think the colours are fine for theses boats.
The names on the other had are poor. Should have named them after the Cat and the Racoon. That will divide the public. lol

I'm actually blown away by the response for that story. 80+ likes just for that? Wowzer! I understand your questioning of the names, but who doesn't love a little retro these days? As with the colours, of course they will be brighter. Don't thinK exact matches - Think Blue, Yellow and Orange. :)

In all honesty; probably not. The weed has been a nightmare. The whole lake was cleared, water samples were made and passed.

It came back with a vengeance. - This is the same weed that suffocates the lake and killed the fish. We are trying to sort it as quickly as we can. The boats are being re-painted and do look fab, they will certainly look great when they get on there. :)

That's a shame sad  Bloomin' weed!

I was hoping to replicate my photo on Sunday:

Doesn't even look like anything has been done, like, at all. The lake is completely over run with weeds, and the jetty at the back (which they're supposedly using) doesn't look like it has been touched in years. And it looks far too small to use for the boats....?

I saw the boats by Fireball, they look huge, and very old...?
