New for 2013: Pleasurewood Paddlers

So, peddle boats are returning to the lake! What do you think about it?

Do we reckon these are new boats, or second hand?

And I wonder where the docking station is going?

At least these boats make the bottom end of the park a bit better. Disucss!

I would like to know unless they are extracting a large amount of reeds just how many boats we will have as last time I saw the lake it had virtually become a reed bank

Yeah, I agree there. Not only was there mass amount of reeds all around it, the actual water was FULL of all under water plant things.

Isn't there a small pontoon by the mini railway's new station, prehaps they might be bringing that into use for this season along with the new station

That is a possiblity.

There was a platform that side of the lake from when there was that pull boat, though I cant remember if that's still there or not.

I would like to see a return of the giant dishes that allow you to talk across the lake! They were great!

I used to love those too! There used to be lots of little extra things to do around the park to fill out your day in addition to the main rides... Land that time forgot, the death slide, boats, giant dishes, the big indoor "fun factory", mini golf, climbing net etc etc. There was no shortage of things to do!

The return of the pedalos is definitely a step (back) in the right direction, in my opinion!

Mini golf was great! I don't know why they don't have an indoor play area. My daughter loves those sorts of things.

They were awesome. I think these paddlers will be ace! Brand new boats do you reckon? Or something from another park? Did Camelot or Loudon have pedal boats?

hi - my first post!

The lake used to have big golden/yellow fish in the lake when I went there (maybe 04/05) - I have quite a few pics from then + of the lake and fish

bringing the Peddle Boats back will definately make good use of the lake other than just to look at , even though that is nice aswell

Hi Jo, and Welcome to the forum, Yes, when I visited last year there were a lot of fish in the lake (How alive they were is a completely different story), It will be nice to see some life restored to that end of the park.

^^ I thought the same was said for the Paddlers too....

I wonder if that little water splash is implying that there's an interactive element to it?

And welcome to the forum Jo!

Ben, can I ask.... whats with the delay for the Pedalos? And how is it progressing? Any chance of photographic updates? :)

I understand the delay with the Pedalos is due to the fact that when the park first opened, a chalk sediment was placed into the lake to clean it, However, in recent times this hasn't been done, it hasn't been done for about 5 years at least, and so there is about 5 years worth of rubbish at the bottom of the lake, and they have to remove the Reed's that are there, when I went up last Wednesday, there was a bloke pulling out the reeds.
