The other thread is purely for the 30th (or 29th wink ) anniversary celebration, but this is where we can discuss all the lovely new things we'd like to see in 2013.

Top of the agenda has to be a MAJOR refurb for Tales of the Coast, surely?!

How long have they been called Funky Flyers? Last time I looked it was called Woody's Flying School? Though I do agree that it should be moved into the kids area, its taking up a prime location for a major tower type ride in its current plot.

The sign next to the ride said Woody's Funky Flyers. I don't think a refurb of TOTC should be top of the list. Personally the creation of a themed area called Pirate Bay or similar where Enigma, JR and Pirate Ship reside.

^ Whilst that could be a neat idea, its hardly urgently needed, is it? TotC is, quite frankly, an embarrassment of a ride. And the Dodgems looks like they'd be better suited in Iraq.

I just think the GP see things a bit different to us (enthusiasts). I agree fully that TOTC needs a serious rethink but I think other stuff should be done first. Jolly Roger whilst excellent looks awful and Enigma could be a real gem if themed properly. Neatening up this area and theming it would be great. But there is also Fireball and Dodgy Dodgems that could also do with attention.

I think though 2013 we will see the park wide rebrand but one thing I really don't like is "pleasure you can measure". It doesn't work, the slogan looks tacked onto what is a great logo. I hope this idea gets ditched personally.

There was one significant thing that I noticed when I visited in June, and I hope that people high up at the park noticed it too... it was a busy day, and the 3 rides that had by far the longest queues, were Fireball, Wipeout and Jolly Roger, the 3 main thrill rides at the park.

IMO there is more than enough at the park for kids to do, so more thrill rides need to be on the agenda.

Hmm, I donk know. They are rather dated now, aren't they?

I think that little plot where the Funk Flyers are would be ideal for a nice tower ride, maybe a S&S Space Shot? There is one for sale up at Loudoun Castle...

Its only 120ft tall, so there would be no problems with planning permission. AND, its a double-shot tower. Most of them (Blackpool, Fantasy Island, Flamingoland etc) are only single shots.

These are massively popular ride types and would suit Pleasurewood perfectly IMO.

How many towers do we want though? If Jolly is kept, then would we need this too... As the public wouldn't really distinguish them would they?

I think the rebrand is incredibly important for the park next year. Professional and themed signage for a start will be something that can make the park look so much less 'amateur' in places. Next year could hopefully be exciting and I'd like to hope there'll be surprises for us too.

I know what you're saying about having 2 tower rides, but these two offer completely different experience. Its not out of the ordinary for a park to have both a shot and a drop tower.

But in saying that, I'm easy going. What about a StarFlyer instead?

I think all we will see next year is the signs etc all going over to the new logo and probably some more tarting up.

Fireball needs scrapping or replaced over winter and Jolly needs to be made to look permanent, Enigma needs a second car made too, TOTC needs sorting and so does main street

I do not think we will see any new rides for 2013

Well HIG have given PWH £3.5m to spend over the 3 years. I dont know how much of that was spent this year, but I think I may have read somewhere that it was £1m, so I would welcome the same again next year.

The refurb for Thunderstruck was a massive step in the right direction for the park, I just hope they can follow that through and either refurb the crap, or get rid. We had 5 new attractions and 2 refurbs for this year. With that in mind, I would hope for one new thrill ride and about 3/4 refurbs, including a MAJOR one for Enigma. Having that looking awsome again, with more than one train would be like a new ride for the park.

Yep I agree. Enigma is actually a really good coaster a did let now by being themeless, untidy and slow throughput. I hope it does get the TT treatment - which btw is far more forcefull than it was, felt a bit sick afterwards though!

It could use a complete re-furb and did it ever have any themeing on the station and exit station

I can't remember the station theming, if any it was just a sort of rusty metal type theming. There was a really good bit of audio that helped which went something like "welcome to the Cannonball Express please keep your arms and legs inside the cars" in a southern American accent.

Yeh cannonball did have themeing, got some pics somewhere...there even use to be music playing in the speakers which had a western feel.

I also remember PA systems on wild waterfalls and the rattlesnake....

Thing is most (if not all) Big Apple jobs have a 1m height limit, so that rules out many small youngsters. At GYPB they can ride the Woodie before the Big Apple. Plenty still enjoy it of course, but I think a 'kiddie' coaster needs to have no min. height restriction or at least none when riding with an adult.

Just reutrned from Flamingoland - they have one of those in the bottom pic and I've got to say its surprisingly nippy and quite rough/jolty.

Thats right, they used to finish with something like.... "enjoy the ride, and the rest of your day at Pleasurewood Hills - The family theme park"

Used to be a cracking little atmosphere in the Cannonball 'pit'.

As well as a thrill ride, and a few ride refurbs, I think a proper kiddy coaster is needed to the kids area of the park. Rattlesnake is too big and too loud for the really small children that fancy a spin on a coaster. Something like this would be great:

... the ever common Big Apple/Caterpillar/Wacky Worm coaster. Though I guess a more permanent addition, like this one:

... would be better.

You have a good point, and I suspect the one pictured above would be pretty turdio like Storm Surge. They really need more actual 'rapid' sections after and/or before the 'slide'.

The common travelling Rapids we have at fair grounds is a good example.
