RE: 2013

I've always thought these kind of rapids look awesome, but having been on the travelling ones at LWV I have to say that couldn't be further from the case!

Very, very 'meh'.

Are you sure it was this time last year?

Officially, the park annouced the 2012 news in Januray.

Is anyone expecting anything for next year?

I'm thinking a new attraction free zone, but as mentioned before this will, hopefully, allow for a spruce up of the obvious - JR etc.

One thing which may be interesting is Fireball, one, whether its there next year and two, will it be running 'proper' again???

Personally I won't be too disappointed for no new ride, but from a marketing sense it may have been better to retain one of the kids rides until this year just to claim a new addition.

I think there will be new rides next year. I remember a while back Lawrence posted something along the lines of "I've seen the plans for next year and they look very exciting!"

As I have said before, I think they just need to add one new ride next year, another thrill ride. Jolly, Wipeout and Fireball are the most popular rides at the park, so it makes sense to add another thrill ride. After all, children are already very well catered for at PWH.

One new thrill ride and a good spruce up of the park, including some decent ride refurbs, like Enigma and Tales of the Coast. I know Jolly needs a tidy up too, but IMO that can take a back seat, for next year at least.

We only knew about the drop tower because of Josh finding the planning application online. I dont know about the Lighthouse and Ponies, they were delivered when the park was closed, weren't they?

I guess we knew about the Thunderstruck 'work' this time last year.

Surely the easy way to find out, is to look back through the old topics...

I got a weird feeling earlier, when I read that a couple of the rides were to be out of action for the rest of this year. Last year when we had similar news, we knew it was to do with the changes for this year, but at the moment we know naff all about next year. We dont even know if we're getting anything new at all, or if there are going to be any changes.

This forum was heaving last winter, but I get the feeling its going to be the complete opposite this year.

Even just some annoying little clues from Laurence would keep us all on our toes!

So anyway, I set the ball rolling. Whats happening with the Elephants? Will they be at the park next year?!! DISCUSS!

We had the excitement of the drop tower since May but if there is plans for 2013 if they don't exceed a certain height then there's no need for planning (Correct me if I'm wrong) Which is one of the reasons why we found out. I do hope they can reveal something soon as as you said Martyn it is quite quiet at the moment.

I think the area where the flying elephants are does need some attention. They are nice little rides but people do get fed up with the rotation system that they have in place which I think could be changed.

I see what you're saying Josh, the Tower was all we really knew about.

But I disagree on them little kids rides being nice. Apart from the Elephants, they're crappy little fair ground rides. I'd be happy to see them scrapped.

^TBH I would be chuffed with this for next year IF it meant the tidying up of other things as discussed before. And as long as its a large teacups ride, not a reutrn of the tiny one they had!!

Yeah, some teacups can look ok (Alton's for example), and there seem to be more decently themed teacups around too.

In saying that, I dont think PWH needs anything like that just yet. A retheme for Fairytale Fantasy sounds good though.

Either a haunted retheme or an interactive (read: shooting) dark ride would be good. Would be nice if Jolly Roger got some attention and a Camelot coaster was picked up too... But I understand that budgets can only stretch so far...

Teacups are great if you can spin yourself round while the ride is going round, I remember when i was little when we went to Drayton manor and they had teacups that you could continue to spin after the actual ride stopped, or something along the lines of Spinning Spider at Legoland Windsor would also be a great addition, a real space filler.

It's a shame that the park weren't on the ball more when Loudoun Castle closed, as Ligh****er got hold of a good couple of a rides that would have really suited PWH:

And obviously, The Tempest!

I'd really like to see these 4 kids rides:

Plus the Flying School thing (or what ever it is called!) moved around here:

They could create a nice little kiddy are back there. Stick in a Big Apple and it's just perfect!
