Main Street

One thing I noticed on Wednesday was just how dead it was around the Main Street. Its all so open and really bare down by the Go-Karts, the shop is still closed, and to make matters worse, they weren't even playing the music.

Shame as it always had a good atmosphere along there, but thats all completely gone now.

Cant help yet think that the shop closure is down to staffing and costing again

It is ridiculous that the top of the street looks like this:

One of these would be good for that little spot:

And tbh, I'm surprised the park doesn't have one of those already...

Anyway, that and some boat themed dodgems (inside the arcade building) could really liven up the area.

Maybe not a Twister, then! But yeah, been on Seastorm at Chessington, a solid, popular family ride.....

Plus, they come as a themed ride, like the one pictured above. And they're made by Zamperla, so they'll only cost about £150.

It needs anything. Something just to breathe life back into that area. It could be so lovely, with the tearooms, the square and the well-themed street. It is let down though by the (now) lack of shop, the lack of themed music, the awful games arcade, the fairytale fantasy ride, the appaling sight of Fireball at one end, the fact that the Go Karts entrance looks poor these days, the...

Jesus, there's more wrong with it than I thought there was when I started typing :/

Lol, the 'Formula K Raceway' sign is due to be replaced. I mean, it was only renamed 'Le Mans' 7 years ago...

I wouldn't be surprised if the Go Karts was removed in a couple of seasons!

^as much as i would hate to see it go, i fear it may, although of course if the price of petrol falls then they will be more likely to stay in my opinion

When the Go-Karts first opened, I genuinely thought that they were some of the best theme park Go-Karts around, and they had the best price at £2. But as the years have gone by, the karts are now worn down and quite a few dont actually work properly. Plus the cost is now £4.

And did you know a standard SLC could fit where the Go-Karts are..... food for thought....

Yes, but if the price of petrol falls, then in theory so does the price of the go-karts.

Have some faith in the world man, plus i think they are safe for a few seasons yet as they have just introduced the activity pass which covers the laser labrinth, go-karts and water zorbs

Petrol will only ever go up. The prices will also only ever go up for any of the pay to play attractions...

The Go Karts are tired. Regardless of the activity pass, I think that they will go rather than see an upgrade. The space could be used for something far more worthwhile, as Martyn has said.
