^ Who says that is Hpeek's video? It was uploaded on 13th April, so it isn't his.
im not getting into an argument on here (one of the reasons i dont post on here more is i see things that people put which i know are not true )
the last 2 seasons those seats have had teddies in them, this season they are just secured with seatbelts as in that picture. i know for a fact that wipeout is not running fully loaded this season, why do i know this to be true? im a superviser/ Team leader of the rides :).
Let's keep the discussion friendly people! Does it really matter? Datman has stated that as a general rule, the ride is running as it has done in the past.
Maybe you were mistaken Hpeek, or maybe there was something out of the ordinary on the day you went? I obviously can't provide evidence either way, but the only thing that people are really interested in is the fact that Wipeout will be running with some seats closed this season, just like last year.
Thats more like it, and very significant as far as i'm concerned. Were they releasing the restraints manually still?
They will always be released manually, unless a lot of money is spent on gates and electronics, then the 2 empty required cars would cause problesm with their harnesses opening and the electronic doors opening on them cars :)
Is the issue of empty cars still to do with the ORP or is it due to something else datman? Do you have any idea? :)
Also, shame on whoever recorded an on ride video, cameras are not allowed on coasters for a reason unless they have been specially mounted. They can cause serious injury to people if they fall!

something to do with the weight of the train being alot more heavier than the original train.
Why would they need to spend money on gates to have the restraints open automatically?
ok forget the gates , electronics would cost quite a bit to get electronics done , which i would imagine is tied in to the electronic gates being open.

I actually thought it might be something like this. Seems a shame that more research wasn't done into the train when the ride was bought. Unsure whether this would have been a PWH or a Vekoma **** up though...

Hence it cannot run fully loaded , there must be 2 empty seats somewhere on the train, the empty seats are changed from time to time to allow even wear on the restraints. so a few months it might be car 2 and 4 closed then another few months cars 3 and 5 closed.
I'm assuming PWH messed up with the new train though, as otherwise I would assume it would have been replaced by Vekoma by now.
Seems like a pretty big fail though, to lose 8 people per train! Unfortunately there is obviously nothing that can be done if it is a weight problem, and trains are expensive to replace!
I personally dont believe that weight thingy, purely because of other coasters in the same situation loading the train to full capacity. I remember reading/hearing that it was to do with the ORP.

So did they not bother installing the auto-release system for the restriants?

^ I was gonna say the same, there must be other, older Vekoma Boomerangs with the new trains in the world???
Also if you remember the OLD train was delivered to PWH - it was stored near the Go-Karts. Why wasn't it installed? Too much work required?
I will reiterate what i have said before, it is VERY frustrating that the train is sent round with 8 SEATS empty while you're stuck in a queue, particulally on a hot summers day with no protection from the blazing sun in your face at the Wipeout queue lane....
I love PWH, but this just stinks of being a bit, well, amateurish.
