Social Media Negatives

But why was Jolly not worked on when the park was closed ? was the park not shut the day after bank hol ?

Good to hear that we should be at 100% in a couple weeks - you need to go all out with this - even telling the press - inviting all the people back who have moaned etc -

and a hint ahead at 2013 - hmm sounds good..... will we see THAT drop tower ???????????????,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You mentioned funding, am quite sure the Look east piece the other night said a million to spend in 2013 and in 2014 ?

May be a good idea to remove the last few negative FB comments Laurence ?

I dont think the rides being closed is the biggest issue really, there is nothing that can be done about that. If things go wrong, they go wrong. Most people seemed to be annoyed at the major lack of compensation for when such a large amount of major rides are down. Plus the fact that there dont appear to be any proper discount vouchers available, so everyone is pretty much paying full price, with a large chunk of major rides down.

Whilst Wipeout was being built, guests were offered a return ticket for £2 for when it opened, and also a few years ago, there would only need to be one ride closed, and the Go-Karts would be made free of charge for that day. Its little things like that, that keep people sweet, thinking that they've got a good deal out of it. Where as at the moment, everyone seems to feel ripped off.

Its horrible to see all these bad comments about little PWH, especially when you see all the effort that has been put in over winter.

Oh, and thanks for only inviting Matt bleh

It is abysmal. Social media has done them no favours. This season is tarnished.

Okay I feel like I need to reply to this one.

First of all, no complaints, comments or criticisms are ever completely ignored by anyone on the park. Many of the staff take personal offence when we get complaints in because we want everything to be working well and trying to get the park to grow. (Which I'm convinced it will!)

Unfortunately this is a transition year. The rides that are down are down due to refurbishments that KEPT them at the park, Jolly Roger was down for 2 days (Bank Holiday Monday and the following Saturday) for essential repairs. These were, due to customer feedback, put on Facebook as soon as they went out; our FB feed goes straight to our Website now to try to cover as many people as possible.

Customer satisfaction is paramount to us; 90% of our business is repeat bookings so we'd be stupid not to pay attention to it. We keep a close on what people are saying and we do try to implement any necessary changes as soon as we can.

It takes a lot of money and, more importantly, a significant amount of time to implement the kind of changes that we need on the park. I've been part of the plans for next year and if all goes well (subject to sufficient funding and hitting targets this year) they will be brilliant. Something that the park really needs.

Anyway, I hope that you guys aren't too put off to come into the park. I will be sorting out another UPWH day of some kind soon as well as inviting Matt to our VIP day next month. We really do appreciate peoples comments, which is why I did a questionnaire last week. (I know it was a little vague, but we needed to know the basics about our customers before we presume anything in the future. More targeted one's will be released over summer.)

We're due to be at 100% on the 25th May. The Tide Traveller is being put together (pics tomorrow) and Enigma's scaffolding was beginning to come down last week.

How about a deal for the zorbs, lazer labrinth and go karts then, if not at least a deal for us season pass holders, i have one and even bring a packed lunch with me when i go up to pwh just to avoid having to pay for food so i can pay for go karts , and am planning on bringing a group of mates up on 26th may so i hope enigmas running by then

We will be. We had a special offer planned in for Whitsun too, which will now be used as a re-launch type thing.

We had to get checks done on the ride, which were completed Friday. All additional work was done on Saturday and re-opened on Sunday.

Our offer for Whitsun is going to follow roughly the same suit as that I think.
Sorry about the invites, but only allowed to have a representative from each organisation!

If you can say, what is the VIP event for exactly?

Granted. Like most of us on here, its my willingness for the park to succeed and regain its status as East Anglia's essential day visitor attraction as per 1900-1995 which makes the start to the season sooooooo frustrating even allowing for everything thats been done.

I REALLY hope some 2-4-1 or 3-4-2 vouches become avaliable at sometime this year too as judging by FB the lack of such discounts are putting people off a bit.

As for next year.... ohhh thats very intriguing. Just hope the 'targets' (something which i have mentioned before) are flexible, allowing for the crap weather and other issues so far! Something the park really needs??

VIP day is a day where we invite all our extended team to come to the park to enjoy the day. We also invite a lot of press and radio to come and review the park.
Targets will be hit. We have many ideas to do this, and offers will be coming out soon.

And sorry Matt, we already have an invite to the college haha!

^Thinking about it, anyone from First Bus attending? Think of how many people arrive via the buses. I'll put myself forward as a controller at Lowestoft. We still have a large Woody promotional cut out at the bus station :-D
