So, needless to say, the Smiler *looks* like it could be pretty awsome (maybe...), who's off to the Towers to ride it this year?

It looks a mess, that's for sure. But I'm not getting the same excitment over how it looks, that others are. I'm hoping it will look more impressive in person.

I just pray that it doesn't ride like Saw!

I think it looks a mess too but I put that down to it being a building site at the moment. I think it will blow us away!

It will be both world beating and a world first, the world beating bit is the number of inversions.

Yeah it's short on them! XD

As of today though, the track is finally complete! Now just the small matter of a couple hundred hours of testing...

I can't wait to see it complete and in person. At the moment it just looks mental, it's gotta be the record for the longest coaster with the smallest footprint surely?

Wardley himself said (I think) that there is more track per square metre than any other coaster in the world... Or something like that anyway. Plus on top of that you have the most inversions in the world and it's just mental.

Saw was smooth as butter in its first year but its second season was rougher that a Southend one night stand! So just ride it soon after opening for best results.

I can't really comment on Saw... Only rode it in it's opening month and haven't been back to Thorpe since. Thought it was a decent ride though.

One thing that stands this in good stead is that it doesn't have the usual Gerstlauer trains, which are said to be the cause of the torture on most Eurofighters.

I think I'm going to let the hype calm down a bit, and visit after summer, September-ish.

Apparently is to do with height, as small people cant seem to feel that horrible 'judder' at the bottom of most elements. It REALLY hurts me, badly, and by the end of my second go I was nearly in tears!

Yeah, dont mind that one to be honest. Being tall means you dont suffer so much from head banging (thats what I've found anyway).

Im 6ft 5 and the only time I have ever encountered severe pain due to my height on a coaster so far is Space Mountain at DLRP... Jesus that hurt.
