The Lighthouse & Pleasurewood Ponies

So here we can discuss anything and everything to do with the other mystery rides we'll be seeing in 2012.

So far, we know there's 3, and one of them is a kids ride.

Photo clues so far:

RE: The 3 other new 2012 rides

The 1st photo gives it away.

The next ride is going to be The Dreaded Bollard.

A ride of intense Gs - it just depends how fast you run around it!

The ride on the back of that lorry looks like it could be this, also from Loundoun:

If it is that, it is a little disappointing that 2 of these 3 rides are proper kiddy rides. I feel the park has enough rides for the little ones as it is.

Twist 'n' Shout from Loudoun would have MUCH better ;)

That is the exact ride they have. They are the frog hopper type seats I described a couple of weeks ago and that is the red tower thing I saw next to it, I know my picture was crap yet that is defo what they have got. I knew they were both kiddies rides, so thats two of the new attractions for next year.

^ Well, we now know what the 2 rides are that arrived the other week, just one more to find out now... (Alexis said in that interview that there would be one kids ride :( )

This little tower wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't yet another travelling ride!

I know I have a hatred for travelling models at parks but the little tower doesn't look too bad, a nice little permanent queueline and ancillary theming and it should look nice. Please not a wooden fence and garden shed! (although that would be better than nothing!)

Here is a video of the pony trap (was it actually called that, unfortunate ****ey rhyming slang if it was). Will be nice I think with more theming than Loudoun had, just looks like a farm! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UiKK8Zwc1T4&feature=youtube_gdata_player

We do need a couple more thrill rides- yes - hopefully we have one next year - and I supsect hopefully another in 2013. What is key now for PWH is promotion and pushing the park right out there...... They really have to sell the park and the new attractions, whether they are for kiddies or not. I so often here people saying " I have not been there for years, is there much there. "

Now is that down to the park or the public for being negative.....

It was called Pony Trek, Josh.

What has also annoyed me is the location for it, cramming in next to Sky Hooks, and I guess that the little drop tower is next to Wipeout.... when theres a big open field in front of Wipeout, and then bucket loads of space at the bottom end of the park, not just next to SITG, but the old Hungry Bears site too. All that empty space, yet they're cramming everything in up the othe end...

Pony Trek is a lovely ride for kids - it needs some decent theming - maybe it could go through the barn and have a hole so i looks like you've crashed out the other side. Real animals would be awesome - chickens and goats etc like at Flamingo Land!

Its in suffolk so old farming equipment would be easy to come by! Get theming and this will be great for families!

It was a part of the Farm area up at Loudoun Castle.

I wonder why they've put it in at such a funny angle? The actualy layout should be easily adjustable, so why do it like that? And I wonder if Sky Hooks will still be there, after all, its had a pretty poor year...

I'm starting to hope that all this ride positioning is part of a longer-term plan that we haven't yet been privvy to? Maybe those spaces you mentioned earlier Martyn are being kept free for a reason - hopefully for something bigger?

That would make sense.

Can we get any more pictures? Is Pony trek in position now?

If that bottom area is left untouched over Winter, there MUST be something in the pipeline for down there.

But in saying that, Thunderstruck must be heading down that end, surely?

We spoke briefly to Alexis before heading over to the Labyrinth today, and although he wouldn't give much away, he did mention that another "mega ride" could be expected for next season.

He also reiterated that 5 new attractions were due for 2012.

Oh right, that's good news. I missed speaking with Alexis at the beginning as I was almost late. When talking about the Pony Trek ride, although Laurence didn't expressly say anything at all that would give the game away, he did hint that the Sky Hooks may be moving. Well that's how I inferred his comment. :)

Oh thats good if true. Thunderstruck and Sky Hooks down the bottom could help a lot.

So would that make 6 new attractions if another 'mega ride' was installed?

Glad to hear he had the time to speak to you, thats nice of him (his accent is brilliant!)

This video was shot recently at Loudoun Castle:

Look whats going on at 1:32 ;)

AND, as if, just AS IF, Twist 'n' Shout, Barnstormer and the other coaster are still sitting there, just ROTTING! :disbelief:

They probably would have been snapped up already! I saw that video the other day and I assume Martyn you are referring to the truck with the lighthouse ride on?

^ Well of Course :)

I dont think the fact that they're Schwartzkopf's is stopping anyone from buying them... especially PWH, who already have a Schwartzy ;)

Oh, and the tower on that lorry actually looks like a permanent model...

I am just SO hoping that when they loaded up the Pony and Tower ride, they were ablse to squeeze Twist 'n' Shout in there too :D

Makes sense in a away, they 'might' be getting antoher thrill ride, and they obviously know whats for sale up in Scotland, and I'd imagine it would be qutie cheap now, considering its been sitting there for like 15 months...
