This story is ridiculous with people trying to jump on the bandwagon which started with the Tesco/Asda Hslloween costume. The maze is optional, it's called 'The Asylum" for goodness sake it's hardly going to be about magical fairies and spiders is it! This sort of thing really riles me and the fact it's made national news is ridiculous in itself!
That's the general consensus! It seems that the park have suddenly decided that they now cater for thrill seekers and "adrenaline loving families". I personally think it was a mistake to completely exclude families from their demographic, the eradication of the railway (which was a really nice ride) was crazy in my opinion. Maybe they're now regretting these decisions and trying to back track, albeit with a bizarre choice of IP.
And this new Waterfront Hotel which is essentially Thd Crash Pad but slight different is another bizarre idea. I expect big heads will no longer feature on the map...yay. Awful map in my opinion.

annual pass day today and tomorrow at Thorpe.... vortex is back to a poor mans ride again so its not as good as it was. interesting to read that Samurai was tweaked in 2013 to save on costs etc
Samurai, Slammer ( no shock ) , Nemesis Inferno, and Zodiac all been closed so far for annual pass days
Well it was a chilly day on park overall - lovely and quiet though so we got round most things well.
For us the swarm backwards was rubbish - changed to front and so much better !!
Nemesis Inferno was better front than back, we stayed on as was not busy with no one waiting in the station
Stealth packed up yet was back open later in the day and we did front two and then mid section.
X no way out - much better now its got thumping music and goes forward too...the lights were good , use to hate this ride yet it was ok yesterday.
Slammer ( as ever ) was out all day yet kept being tested
Samuri - man what a ride cycle - very intense and brilliant - did this twice
Saw - did twice front and back - the second ride we stopped to see Jigsaw on his cycle the first time we didn't - still quite painful for me to ride yet we did it.
Colossus shut for a bit to clear up vomit then it was on we went - front row - good yet rough
Rush - random ride cycles - both times different - one was very poor
Quantum - jesus man the first time the cycle was so intense - I swore really loud - the second was tame - the middle seats were left unused all the time so that staff could get over both sides -surely this doesn't happen on busy days ?
Vortex - random cycles during the start of the day then the afternoon - very intense and after watching someone's make up mirror and nivea hand cream fly off the ride and smash everywhere
Zodiac - my first time on a Huss enterprise in years - looking quite old now - still makes the same noises they do starting and finishing - we were the last two on the last ride of the day at 4.56pm.
New time waiting boards at all ride entrances which were much easier to read and better branding on park made things easier to read I felt.
Really is best time to go out of season and on a school day
The new hotel entry is on the right as you go over the bridge to get in - opens in May I think it said
The new queue boards are really fantastic - hopefully Towers will get similar soon
The new hotel is in the same location as last years Crash Pad. It will be built out of shipping containers again but it is being done entirely by Thirpe rather than using Snoozebox again.
I love the new branding though - the 'Island Like No Other' tag line could work amazingly!
They are no longer red they are white and green LED boards, I only saw one by Pizza Hut, all rides also have a newer scrolling text board as you enter the que lane
They've had them since last season. There's a couple of big LED screens about listing all the queue times and each ride also has an LED scroller at the entrance. When I say LED - think of football advertising hoardings. Those kind of screens.
Thought this was quite interesting about their afterburner..
wondered if this meant or could explain our random cycles... ( i know they are slightly different models )
Correct me if I'm wrong Vortex workers, but the cycles are longer in the morning due to the cold motor. Once it warms up its far more efficient at slowing the ride and reducing the amount of swings you get.
