RE: Thunderstruck

Also looks like the chairlifts are supporting a new colour this year...

I've been looking into what Thunderstruck could look like with its travelling part removed and came across thease pictures:

I'm really hoping that The Tide Traveller comes out like this!

Coolskin, you said you saw parts of Thunderstruck the other day, had they been repainted?

I'm getting this horrible feeling that the main structure of the ride is being left as it is, blue with the red lightning bolt stickers!

Lightning bolts would hardly fit "The Tide Traveller" though? xD

Surely they won't half repaint a ride!

Martyn - when i biked up the hills last night ( 8/3/11 @6pm ) the main arm of thunderstruck was next to fireball. It was blue and yellow.....

OMG, I saw that pic before reading and thought that was our Thunderstruck! laughing

That does look really nice though!

It was blue and yellow.....

So the gondola's are gold and pink, and the main structure blue and yellow!? When are they going to stop with all these zany colours! Look at how nice that Thunderstruck is above, yet ours will look like it crashed into a rainbow!

Yeh it was weird it was like pizza shaped colours of yellow and blue....only at the top....The main bit may have been blue....the bush was too high for me to see any lower.....

Some enthusiasts mentioned on their facebook page about the motors working properly, and it was going to be running at its proper speed?

So have we been riding a dubbed down Thunderstruck for the last 7 years?

Who knows, though it would be good if that turns out to be true. I've never been on another type of these rides, so I wouldn't know if it had been slowed down at all.

Would be great to see how its coming along as well! *coughlaurencecough*

Looks good, the colours blend together a lot better than I thought they would.

Looks good. Hopefully it'll prove to be slightly more thrilling than before.

Also, if they are keeping Jolly Drop, then i'd love to see it undergo a similar transformation during the next off season. (Fireball too, but JR first...)

I dont think it would be possible to this kind of work to Fireball. If you can, it is probably more hassle than its worth really.

Yeah, probably not with the movable floor.... i was thinking of a general re paint and removing the fairground tat on the ride, like that one we saw on here at another park.

Fireball needs to be sorted, looks worse than Jolly I think. Wipeout will need a lick of paint soon too really....

Yeah, probably not with the movable floor

Good point, didn't even think of that! Was more thinking of the 4 arms that hold it up..?

You could drop it into a hole, remove the back drop and lights, relocate the control booth and it could look really nice. I'd like to see that.
