Sea Life Centre - Gt Yarmouth

Popped into the shop on Sunday, no interest in going in at all (once you've done one once, you've done them all really), but I noticed that the entrance is a heafty £14.40. I nearly passed out. Last time I went there it was £5.99. Nearly £15 is an absolute piss take, for like 1 hours 'entertainment'.

Also, when are thet going to stop raving on about them under water tunnels? They were amazing in 90's.. but now, with all other interact elements, they're just dull.

Went a few weeks back, I used my Merlin Pass and the missus and my sister used a BOGOF so it was only 7 or so quid each. It isn't a bad Sea-Life Centre but I would never have paid full price for it. I don't find Sea Life Centres that interesting tbh but Gt Yarmouth is pretty good for what it is. The Weymouth Sea Life Park is the best I've been to and in recent years has really improved with the addition of a kids ride area and a log flume.

One thing to remember ur turn up and pay ticket is valid all day so u could go in and back again at set points in the day say for when sharks or the penguins are fed etc

Still ain't worth £15 - as much as I wanna see the penguins!!

Would be better off going to London for the day. The SeaLife there is pretty damn good.

Speaking of SeaLife though, one of the best I've visited is the one in Towers!

The penguins are cool. I did feed the sharks the other week in there, was wicked

Yeah the one in the towers is great. Just the right size for a sealife centre for me. Really well themed too!

Now if you want to see sea life, and your down torquay way, make sure you visit living coasts, we stayed near there, and you can get 2 day tickets so one day is living coast, the next is paignton zoo, now why can't places do that over here.

Saving for a MAP, couldn't afford one in January Sales, would mean towers at uni and Sea-life at home.

i think the good thing is with sealife is that you can come in and out all day with your ticket - well you use to be able too

You still can - though why you would particularly want to I don't know.

I have been in recently and it's still really nice, just not worth the money they charge. I wouldn't go in if I didn't have a MAP.

I've always thought it is far too expensive. For whats on offer and how long it takes me to have a good look at everything, I really dont think its worth the money.

I think if it was combined with a couple of other attractions along the prom then it may be worth it - they did do this a couple years back

You pay £19.50 on the gate at pleasurewood or £16.50 online for a full day at a theme park. Sea Life charge you £15 for what is essentially an hour of entertainment at a stretch.

I haven't been in over 20 years so I could easily spend more than an hour, but then it'll be another 20 years before id want to go again.
Cheaper price would temp me back sooner, unlike a Theme park which you can visit time and time again.
Plus it's about £10 if you book online.

Plus £15 an hour is my basic hourly rate at work, so I'm quite happy to work an hour to have an hour.
I wouldn't want to pay any more than that. And I think PWH should round their ticket prices up to £20 per adult, eshapily as there are a couple of extra rides adults can now ride. (Hobs/marble)

What is highly overpriced is that Lizard thing in Yarmouth.. that was very expensive.
But theses things are designed to grab the tourists so  they're always over priced.

You're lucky if that's your hourly rate then and I suppose that's why you see it as better value than I lol!

As for Pleasurewood I presume they leave it at 19.50 as in people's minds 19 looks a lot cheaper than 20.

well £15 being the highest rate depending on the job, nothing do to with luck but just hard work, when work is available lol (we hardly get much work in the winter time) One of the downsides to being self-employed I guess, but it costs me quite a bit to be in work and a lot of hours go unpaid sadly. Just the nature of the job. I wish I got that regular and all year round.

I just tend to value things this way, how many hours work is it gonna take to pay for this or that. I could spent more than an hour in there, it's quite relaxing.

Also I only consider the single ticket, as there is only me. I think many of theses places should offer a discount on a second ticket. Most people don't do things alone.

And to be fair, once you've been to one Sea Life Centre, you've basically been to them all.

I haven't done any local attractions for well over 15 years, I had decided it was time to re-visit theses places. I still haven't found the time yet.

Popped in today, been many years since I last was there (15-20) and I thought it was pretty good.
Probably spent about 2 hours in the main aria, (three of us) while other people were in and out within 30 minutes!! but I guess some people don't really like to pay attention, many didn't even bother to look and most of it. I like to get my moneys worth plus I hate rushing around. :P Wont need to visit it again for another 20 years.

Not sure why they had a Gorgon in the water tunnel but it looked cool, I can't remember if it's always been there? They had divers in there today cleaning the tank, and that Turtle is huge. lol
Penguins was great, we went to Banham Zoo a few days ago and didn't get to see any as they were hiding/sleeping out of sight so this was cool.

Two things I didn't like, some woman wanting to do photoshoot the moment to enter, didn't even have the option it was kinds forced on us. And the whole things fizzles out at the end, felt like there was something missing, instead you've got a Clown fish feature which seems a bit pointless.

I do which they had more tunnels.

It was way to intrusive for my liking, don't mind doing that sort of thing if we want to do it, I guess we could have just said no and walked away but she's only doing her job. It also meant others in the queue have to stand around waiting for the deed to be done.

I went in the other day, couldn't really work out what was so 'new' about the shark tank other than some new info screens really.
