Looks very odd seeing it bare like that, I dont like them chpping down all these trees!
However, something is definitely going on with regards to Fireball, but what it is, is anyone's guess really... such a mess around the ride with signs and all sorts laying about.
(And just noticed, in that second pic, you can see the very tacky looking Annie Oakley Railway train...ugh)

It makes you realise that there's so much more space there behind the ride which was hidden before... But it also makes you realise that Fireball would be so much more fantastic if it wasn't mounted on the back of a trailer...
Deffo a new ride site, i reckon. But once again, why cut trees down? The old cine 180 space is as large as this. (Unless we are talking about another tall ride and therefore associated planning issues.)
If Fireball is relocted within the park where would you like to see it? Hungry Bears site? Sky Hooks site? Opp. Wipeout? I think Thunderstruck would sit nicely on the Sky Hooks site, i think the Troika was placed there for a while way back when.....
Could be something bigger planned, maybe for the next 'mega' ride? That space is MASSIVE, could easily house a large coaster/water ride.

This is a big problem, and is evident across the park, with Wave Breaker being the worst culprit, and Sky Hooks not too far behind. But not only are there these empty fields with small rides, there are just SO many empty, unloved area's which look horrible and make the park look run down. The 2 back corners of the park, by SITG, and the other side, where the Spiders web used to be, both area's haven't seen any love in many years, and are looking horrible with over grown weeds. Add to that the mess of a plot where the Hungry Bears Pavillion used to be, MASSIVE area, with 3 small benches randomly dumped there, with crap fencing around it, and again, WEEDS all over the grass.
It is nice having grassy areas, but there are just too many at PWH, and they are too big. This was even brought up in the BBC Radio Norfolk interview.

The trees were lovely behind Fireball, such a shame. Is anyone going to ask them why they keep cutting so much away !!!!!
At least when the trees were there it allowed these areas to be hidden - because the more obvious that these areas become, the more people will just walk round thinking "this place is empty" - and I'm sure most people think that already!
However, I'm starting to see this season as a changeover affair... where the new owners are coming in and clearing and re-modelling areas to fit in with their longer term plans. What I would really like to see from HIG is a medium-term development plan so we can get to know what they have planned in more detail and see what is likely to change and improve with the park.
The most important thing though is that they are seeing the flaws that CdA left us with (despite their initial efforts) and are determined to not let the park stay stagnant like it has for a few years, but instead maximise its potential to the place we know it can be!

I agree, they looked really good, so I do hope there is some purpose behind this...

I see what you're saying, but remember, we still have the same management team in place from when CdA were in charge. I'd like to know who makes the decisions etc, because I dont think Alexis has as much say as we think. In that interview with Radio Norfolk he said that the parks Managing director called a meeting a wanted to know some opinions and idea's for the park.
As the park is owned by a parent company, would the park have an actual managing director, or would it just be the managing director of HIG (though I cant see someone of such importance getting involved with the nitty gritty)?
Yeah, but the management team may have had a plan that couldn't have been actioned by CdA - and now HIG are allowing them to get on with it.
More importantly, the management at HIG may be wanting to see a return on their purchase of the park, and thus want to see some serious action at PWH in order to make them some money. So yeah, I could see HIG's MD getting involved, if only as much to say "build some more bloody rides!"
