Sunday 26th June

Before you say anything, yes I did take my camera, but I haven't uploaded the pics yet. Probably do it tomorrow afternoon.

Not too much to report on really, had a good day though. Enigma closed at about 2pm for some reason, oh and all the trees behind Fireball have been chopped down, so that now looks all bare too. Definitely something going on with it...

Wipeout's capacity is getting WORSE with now 3 cars left unused!

Forgot just how loud Thunderstruck is!

Pleased with some nice new touches around the park, yet not pleased with some other touches, like random fences EVERYWHERE, unpainted, and generally looking cheap and nasty.

Multi coloured large train looks awful, as does the now abandoned train restaurant.

SO much empty space, with so little to do. Drop Tower will help, but much more is needed! Wayyyy too mant decent spots for rides are being completely wasted.

As I said, pics tomorrow...

A lot of negative aspects, let's hope a lot of it is temporary. Why haven't they sorted Wipeout! It will be very important that it can run to full capacity especially if they are expecting higher numbers next season. Look forward to the pics.

Any one else think that the ex train restaurant would make a great mini haunted attraction ?? Live actors in there etc, similiar to what GYP had with sheer terror a few seasons back now.

They're still using it for birthday parties but that's it right now... It's such a unique thing to have that it seems such a shame not to use it more!

^ My thoughts exactly. It seems quite pointless, especially with the station platform roof. I think I would have rather seen the Flying Fish restaurant close than the train.

Arrived about quarter to ten, nice to see Wipeout testing, and open as soon the park had opened too. This could be one restriction they had removed from the ride, as it used to open at 11am. Also, the dispatch time have improved, not much faffing about and was definitely being run quicker than every 7minutes.

Shame they didn't tart up the rest of the carousel really. The organ/music wasn't playing very well either, could hardly hear it. tutut.

What a joke...just how ridiculous is that looking? Be interested to know what the maintenance team actually done over winter...

Feels so different down at Enigma. Last time I visited, tree's were on the right, and you could see easily into car park, now thats just a mess of over grown bushes.

Obviously you've seen them in the other topic.

They badly need to stain the wooden queue fence for Timber Falls, its almost grey! Also, no sound effects. In general it is better though, just a shame there's no actual theming on the ride itself.

w00t!

Just give up Pleasurewood...

I absolutely LOVE what they've done to the old joke shop. Fantastic little touch that I wouldn't expect to see at PWH. More of the same please!

Was there really any need to add this? Looks butt ugly too.

This is another FANTASTIC little touch. What a great idea, well done to who ever came up with it.

More new, unecessary ugly fencing. Annoyingly, I forgot to take a pic of this new bit of fencing that made me LOL lots. Its behind the toilets next to the Helter Skelter. They've made a 1m sq fenced off area, with stones and a put one small plant pot in it...lots very, very odd/random.

I do like the new childrens area next to Wipeout.

The play equipment looks good, but I dont like that they've kept that concrete pade that the football game was on, and just plonked the Woody Copters on there. Also note the very odd style fence around the back, this also appeared around the Dodgems and Wavebreaker...but worse.

...

Another pic that shows whats annoying me... SITG's tunnel, that AWFULLY big fence thats been put up around it (maybe it was temporary for when they were sorting the tunnel?) it doesn't actually look that tall from that distance, but you can see how big it is because its in line with the top of SITG's station, and the random black tarmac patch on the Chairlift queue. Seriously, there must be about 20+ types of flooring around the park, and it looks a mess.

This was to be the entrance for the new Mini train 'platform' - I really wouldn't call it a station to be honest. Oh, and just for those who dont know, the new circuit for the Mini train is just a bit shorter really, it doesn't go as far back as it used to, it loops back round around a bit sooner.

Look at how they've let that grass get on that mound around Wipeout?!

And Just HOW ridiclulous does that look. That little plot is SO badly crying out for a ride. Also note the new fence around the lake. As well as the other 7 miles of fencing in the pic. SMALL HEDGES WOULD BE NICE!

Again, so more flooring thats just been replaced and left as it is, which is nothing like anything around it.

The old entrance to the Sea Lion show has been.....FENCED off!lol Good idea to be honest, and I have to agree, now I've seen that play in the flesh, it is nice, and the whole area does feel like a play area, with no signs of the old crazy golf about any more. Well done!

Enigma is in a sorry, sorry state.

Another picture which disappoints me really. That fence right in front, which actually opened with the park 1864 should be removed, and they should put some tall hedges around the side of Timber Falls.

The Pirate Ship is looking VERY nice, didn't actually go on it so I dont know if its still as dull as bread, but it is looking very good.

More unecessary fencing, this time in Wipeout's queue. And look at the weeds by the station, and didn't there used to be sand down there? Needless to say, Wipeout's theme is looking pretty tired.

Nice to see the Main St theme continued round the back. This is the entrance to The Palladium. Anyone remember the little concrete area that was just down there, where the Sky Scramer and many other small rides lived. Used to be a walk way from the main street to the Cine180 area, well thats gone, and has become that outdoor function area with that large canopy. I'm glad of that to be honest. Here's a the pic taken from the Twitter etc topic:

And thats it people. Some very good improvements, but some very poor ones too. Have I been over-critical? Dispite all them little problems, the park is still a million miles away from the dump it was 10 years ago.

Oh, forgot to add, Tales of the Coast is still awful, and in a rubbish state, with little to no effects working, and the sound is pretty dodgy too.

Thanks for the photos Martyn, I completely agree about everything you've said. I wish they'd sort out some of the simple issues like the Wipeout theming etc. Great photos nonetheless.
