As was mentioned before, its nothing to do with the train. I'm certain its to do with the ORP.

And anway, do you really think they would be allowed to just buy the train, leaving a trainless coaster for sale?!

Can anyone remember if it ever ran with a full load?

I was there on one of the first days of operation, the train got stuck on the second lift (followed by a full evac at the bottom of the drop), but i can't remember if it had a full load.

SURELY even PWH wouldn't run it at 8 seats down for the ORP???? Most people don't buy pictures anyhow....

I'm pretty certain there were only 5 monitors showing the photo's in the photo booth, so thats a big clue really.

So they refuse to run Wipeout on full capacity, Enigma, and the Chairlift....

The chairlft i kinda get, as loading every other one means it can operate with just member of staff each end - fine on quieter days. Same with Wavebreaker, one lane (therefore one member of staff at bottom) is OK off peak.

But Wipeout - come on! Its THE star attraction, but doesn't seem to be treated as such?!

Thing is I want to race with my mates down tidal wave like we COULD do with ease at Thorpe Park, they had two lanes open and only ONE member of staff at the top. Maybe wipeout is the ORP who knows, most stuff I say is down to cash

^ Coolskin, as have been stated before Wavebreaker requires two staff up the top because they cannot be OPO, so this is the problem

^ Thorpe actually has 4 slides.

There is no real reason why they cant use both lanes, other than to save on electricity.

no apparently , the controls for each slide on on a diffrent side to the other so cant be used by one person.

The release button's are on the inside of the two slides. With one ride op, they couldn't let you 'race' as they couldn't press the buttons at the same time, but thats it. Nothing stopping them from being operated by one person.

Yes Thorpe has 4, only 2 next to each other operated by ONE operator were running when we went

One at the top is probably OK, but they need two at the bottom. A single ride op cannot gather boats from both lanes without a long walk around the conveyer belt set up.

TBH, wouldn't you do the same if you ran a park?. On quieter days to save on running costs, staffing costs and wear and tear i'd open just one lane of Wavebreaker....

The only thing is it also has the danger of becoming the norm, or an easy option if short staffed on more busy days.

Just be glad they haven't brought in 'ride rotation' when its not very busy. (Again something i'd be tempted to do if i ran a park, even though i hate it as a guest!!)

PTPete has done his trip report over at UKRides, and he mentioned that Wipeout was running with all its seats in operation!

But unfortunately, it looks like the park wasn't busy enough to prove it, as there was still lots of empty seats!

But Hpeek also noticed this earlier in the year, so hopefully it is true.

Yes I just read the report but the photos only showed a half full train anyway. I agree that JR looks so temporary. In fact it looks pretty bad to be honest. I just hope next season they do a Tide Traveller or get the permanent model. I think once all the rides and the shop is done it will be a great day.

Yes, still dissapointed with the shop but rather they focus on the rides first tbh

^Don't just hang out there boy, get on the ride!!!

I hope it improves the atmosphere, gotta be better than the random mix played before... Hopefully it'll have some safety messages, strangely i think such announcements help build anticipation.

Hobo. Bite the bullet, face your fear and Go. On. Wipeout!

You'll love it! I was terrified of rides with inversions until a few years back when I visited Thorpe Park, and forced myself on Ninferno. Loved it. Realised what I was missing!

At least give it a go dude ;)
