It's not just dirt. Well, it is, but I dont think it's as simple as just washing it off. They would need to be repainted I'd imagine.

For now, Wipeout is ok IMO. Give it 3 or so years, then give it a proper refurb. New paint etc, freshen up the theme.

Yeah, in 3 years it will be 10 years at the park which is about right for a refurb in my opinion. I've always wondered why they didn't install the automated restraint release system and gated loading bays which would increase the throughput quite significantly.

Most Boomerangs dont have a gate loading system, purely for health and safety reasons - the train travels through the station at almost 50mph etc.

Very good point sir, although they do exist though, I swear I've seen them? In which case then at least the automated restraint release.

RE: Wipeout

Yeah they do exsist, the Boomerang at Bellewaerde has them, but I can see why most places dont install them.

And yeah, it is odd that they didn't bother installing the auto-release for the restraints.

It's all probably from the fact that they have that silly timed dispatch rule don't they? Why try to increase throughput when they can't launch it that quick?

the restraints are not made of material that can be easily painted. they stink and the black grime would shift with steam

With the lack of auto release restraints, at least it's one less thing to go wrong! :P

There's a little poster been put up in the Wipeout queue saying that certain rows are unavailable due to on ride photo issues!

I knew it was to do with that! They should just move the ORP in my opinion.

What if people don't want a photo? it wouldn't matter to them.
Simple thing is to just let people know which seats wont be photographed. it better than blocking them out completely which is backwards thinking.

I know they have timed dispatches and things but I went on this today when the train, queue and station were empty of guests. 4 of us got on as the two ops sat perched on the train chatting, we pulled our restraints down and sat there for a good 4-5 mins while the ops continued chatting until a few more people came on.

Would have been nice to get some acknowledgement as we entered the station or to tell us why we were say there waiting. Doesn't look great for people to see ops just sitting on the ride chatting while you have paying guests wondering why they can't going whilst they're sat in uncomfortable restraints :/

Scott, do you reckon the restraints could be new?

The holes for the handles were really big and looked quite messy. You could see in the hole and there wasn't any sign of the old yellow colour.

I don't mind waiting coolskin but I do mind sitting there waiting while staff are sat *on* the train idly chatting...

Yeah they did possibly seem new Martyn. Having said that, I take my glasses off as I get in the queue so I'm not the best to ask!

It makes sense to fill it up as much as possible before sending it off.
Nothing wrong in them chatting, don't we all do that in the work place?

It doesn't make sense to sit perched on the train nattering away with no acknowledgement of any paying customer entering the station. I'm not doubting they should fill the train up but giving your guests a heads up would be advisable.

I have to agree entirely with mrbrightside... It takes a few seconds to say something like "we just need to wait for a few more people and then we'll get going". After that they can chat to their hearts content until the ride is ready to go.

Making no mention of it and then standing around chatting would really annoy me.

I agree, I thought it was just that they were talking was an issue.
If it was me id be talking to the guests instead :P

On a similar note, I was really impressed with all the staff I came into contact with. All very friendly and polite.

I thought that the staff were generally great on Sunday :) from the moment we entered the park and a cheery lady asked us if she could help put our wristbands on and another gave everyone high fives until we left and were given a friendly goodbye!

I was just mentioning one little blip out of the day.

You are right hobohippie95, the restraints on the Fireball last year were purple and have been fitted with the new black ones for this season.

This is an image I've used on our website which I took last season
