So, Thorpe Park have recently released expansive plans for their 2012 rollercoaster... and it looks pretty sweet! I won't bore you with all the details, as you can read them in the above links, but it will be a first of it's kind in the UK - a "Wing Walker" 'coaster where you are suspended either side of the tracks.
The ride will also be themed around an apocalyptic crash site, making the whole island that the ride is situated on look like it's the end of the world - and the theming looks pretty damn good!
Ride
Station
Full sized crashed plane
Food and drinks stand
What do you think?

wow, i made a video of thorpe park, and in the music when i get to this bit it changes from don't stop me know to it's the end of the world as we know it ( and i feeln fine)
Anyone have any idea here..... The main thorpe website does not list the 10th+11th March as annual pass days, yet the thorpe breaks website does..... Just wanted to know as going to head down on the 10th when it should be quiet. They are advertising the 15th as their bench mark open day. Will have to ring and ask and check swarm will be open for the 10th if thats the pass day
Pass holder day, a week before the park opened to the public. 2007 I think.
They use these days to 'test' the rides, to make sure they're ok for the proper opening. And they do break, you cant really complain, as you didn't really pay anything for that day.

Upto you when you want to go, but I can never understand the need for people to go for a new coasters opening. There's always going to be issues with them, especially at Thorpe Park.
I'm definitely going this year, but when I do not know.
^ Thanks Martyn, not going for the coaster opening... going for the fact it will be quiet as it is pass holders only... ringing thorpe shortly to check
I done that a few years back. Worst trip to Thorpe ever. Pretty much everything was closed, and what was open, broke down. I drove from Norwich for a day trip, and came back with a ride count of 2, 1 ride on Colossus and 1 ride on Flying Fish.
OS Well.... After waiting some 15minutes for anyone to answer at Thorpe I gave up and rang Thorpe breaks who agreed with me how dreadfully bad Thorpe are at answering the phones..... There is NO annual pass event at Thorpe this year, instead they are doing a friends and family day/weekend instead..... Thorpe breaks emailed Thorpe and very kindly rang me back with that info around 2pm today....
