trip report 02/04/11

so here we are again, new season, havn't been able to upload pics yet, and since i was waiting for reece too do one he has decidedly given up. there were quite a few of us gathered up in the car park for 9:45, then once all the stuuff to do with tickets was sorted me, reece and 8 others went round in our group, we started the day by heading down towards the dodgems etc., as we were passing wipeout several of our group wished to go on that. after this, we finally got down, got on the dodgems and after several attemps the ride operator managed to get the ride going , after this, we headed on to sitg and went on that, then some of us on the ballons ride, we then headed up to the chairlift. we then went on the kite flyers, then got our lunch, on our way out we saw that the timber falls entrance had been redone. we then headed for enigma, which had been repainted, but was only riding 6 at a time. then it was on to thunderstruct, followed by the pirate ship. then we went on the Go- karts, where my cousin was working and me and my mate and reece and his mate had a race in the double go karts and we would had won if our had started after we were stopped for an accident. then, a few of us went on the little train, round, then we saw the big train at it's siding and found out that there was a problem with the wheels. then we went back to wizzy dizzy and did that, followed by another ride of wipeout and wavebreaker, meanwhile those ( including me) who didn't want to go on wavebreaker went on the veteran cars which have been done up, we then headed back down to the sitg area and went on that ( 21 times in a row!) then we went on the clown slide, afterwhich it was time to go on fairytale fantasy and totc , then we tried to get on a last ride, i chose enigma, and the others chose timber falls because it had been breaking down all day, but it was closed, so too was enigma, so we went on the carousel instead, followed by a look in the main shop then we went home. and reece is doing another trip saturday so he will have to do that trip report as i am at the museum

Thanks Matt, you have highlighted a couple of interesting points. Firstly about some repaints I was unaware of like the VC and Enigma but also the fact that Enigma was only taking 6 at a time. it can't possibly be running at an even lower throughput, that is just madness. I look forward to the photos.

Repaints can make everything look newer which is good.

Wasn't Enigma always on 6 per go? I thought the cars held 6... or was it 8?

^ It is 8 people per train.

we saw that the timber falls entrance had been redone

What else have they done to it, or was this your first trip since it became Tumber Falls?

we then headed for enigma, which had been repainted,

Just the trains, or track as well?

then, a few of us went on the little train

So what has happened with the little train? Did they re-route it and is there a second station?

right, awnsers, the entrance has been moved closer towards main streeet and further away from wizzy dizzy/fireball and has a speaker system that sets the ride in a saw mill. the enigma track does not feel or look anydiffrent, it has still been re routed past the new station but still doesn't stop there, my guess is it will stop there next year when the nature trail is open

Ah I get you now. Good move in my opinion. The old queue always used to spill out, and that was with the cattle pen area under the first drop, so I'd imagine it was even worse with the new straight queue.

I think the sawmill sounds and theming are pretty good though - have they added to them from last year?

Because once again the theming on Timber Falls' queue is way better than PWH standard usually is :p

It's good that they have added to it. I'm very happy with what has happened so far this year, they seem to be giving everything abit of a spruce up.

Hopefully we can get some pictures next time? biggrin
