The Gt Yarmouth Easter Fair

Anyone been to that big fair they have every year in Yarmouth? I haven't been in about 5 years now, is it still on? If so, when is it normally on?

Over the last few years, our fairs seem to have got a LOT better, with quite a few coasters etc, so I'm thinking of going to the Yarmouth fair this, if it is still on, to see what thats like nowadays.

Thanks Hacks, I thought you'd know about it ;)

Has it changed much recently? Last time I went it was just full of thrill rides, with 2, maybe 3 of the same ride, including Boosters etc. Has there been any water rides or coasters in recent years?

I am going friday night ( 13th april ) the signs are up in town already around Yarmouth.

I doubt it will head to Lowestoft after as last year it did not due to the council and police saying no because of its location on the seafront and anti social behaviour, was the first time it had not come to Lowie in 2011 for a set amount of years.

The fair is always best in Yarmouth then it splits when it goes.... I assume it is in Norwich at the moment

When you say 'the' fair, you do not its not going to be the same fair as Yarmouth? From what I remember, many different showmen make up the Yarmouth fair, who will then go their seperate ways afterwards.

Yes i know, lowie and beccles often get a couple of the yarm rides, not much. Yarm is always the better one here on the coast

^to be 'fair' there is a lot more space at GY than on Lowestoft sea front.

Interesting about why it didn't come to Lowestoft last year.

^Despite its 'size' if you like, i have never seen any coasters or water rides apart from perhaps a small kiddies oval coaster.

There are also repeater rides, say two Dodgems and a couple of Waltzers which always seems odd to me.

I think norwich once had a magic mouse travelling did they not ?

I think that was when Funderworld used to come to Norwich, I think they only came for 2 years.

I think norwich once had a magic mouse travelling did they not ? Yes yarm is always repeater rides on both ends of the market places.

As for why it did not come to lowie in 2011 yeh its local kill joy council and the police, WDC should have just moved it to its old location, was always better down there anyway. I found a website which lists fair dates and Lowie shows for start of may 2012 after beccles yet I can not find any info anywhere else on it. Odd that this website that lists these fairs does not show the yarm fair.

Yeah, went last night very busy (cheapos!!)

Ride cycles were reasonable for cheap night apart from the Oblivion Freak Out which only gave a couple of swings each way. Terrible IMO.

The booster was a 40mtr, i didnt ride it, find it quite pants compared to the too extreme one last year, wonder where that it is ? Only went on oblivion freak out which i personally thought had a good programme of swinging, something PWH seem to have totally forgotten.
