I cant believe how many members we have on here that dont post.... I see a LOT of people signed in at the bottom of the home page, that have never posted.
Hi, I'm Kim, 27 from Great Yarmouth; A "would-be" adrenaline junkie, who, unfortunately, has found out her four year old doesn't seem to like rides that go too high. Or too fast. Or god forbid, backwards. Never had a chance to try Wipeout. :( Went to PWH every year until I moved away in 2004, and just started going back this year.
(My four year old is also terrified of Woody... He'll get teased about this when he's older)
If you really want your boy to get into rides, you'll just have to be patient. I was like that with my ex's younger brother, we kept taking him to PWH, yet he would never go on anything worthwhile. But I guess one year he just got fed up of us going on at him, so he plucked up the courage and went on Enigma... my hard work paid off!
Same with my niece, in 2008 she wouldn't go on the Tidal Wave, yet in 2011 she went on Wipeout! And since we've taken her to Alton Towers where she didn't twice about going on anything!
Anyway, again, welcome to the forum, its been a while since we've had a new member, I hope you stick around!
I'm new if you've not noticed. Long time lurker first time poster. I'm a local chap. As a kid we visited PWH at least once a year, I use to collected the maps, unfortunately no long have them :( but I did find while sorting out my junk an old PWH 'autograph book' I'm afraid I not been a visitor to the park for about 8 years, the last time wasn't a great experience and the park looked poorly. So pleased over the past few years it's improved so much. I'm hearing a lot of good things, word of mouth is positive and im really keen to return this year if I can drag someone along, no doubt I'll come up alone in the end, no one will notice. :P
I'm the same age as the park, for what it's worth... well, almost ;)

BaggyWorld, GB1, parfitt78, Hyak2, dannyw2, JakeHillyard, SW, theflamingbrick, Lozza89, Carioca, blummameplata, appapelusnede, GewWemeFlolla, clerabsbeauro - all members who I seem to regularly see online, yet none of them have a single post between them!
We have 226 registered members, yet 167 of them haven't posted at al.... spambots maybe? Some of the user names are a bit strange....
A few months ago I trialled a Facebook sign in option on the board and i noticed a few suspicious 'members' signrd up with very odd names and locations. I have since disabled that option and the recent sign ups all seem fairly legit. I think a couple of those you mentioned are bots.
I see no one has introduced themselves on here for a while, but I’m a newbie, so figured I should! I’m Kate, 25 years old, from Thetford. Pleasurewood Hills was my first theme park and I visited every year with my parents and three older brothers until I was about 12. I’ve remained a massive theme park lover, visiting all the major parks in Orlando, Florida and Disneyland Paris, after graduating from PWH to Thorpe Park and Alton Towers in my teens!
Many brilliant memories of summers spent around Lowestoft and Yarmouth have remained dormant in my memory until I met my partner last year and decided to indulged his love of the old Haunted House ride at Alton Towers last Christmas, when I bought him Michael Eley’s book about the building of the ride. Naturally, for his birthday I took it a stage further, managing to get a signed copy of John Wardley (the man behind Nemesis, Saw, The Swarm, The Smiler, etc.)’s autobiography, before he treated himself to a book called ‘Tales from the Towers: The Unofficial Story Behind Alton Towers, Britain's Most Popular Theme Park’ this summer. What should be mentioned in the foreword of this book? But my little theme park of childhood memories off the Suffolk coast!
And so started a journey into nostalgia that led me here, and back to Woody bear’s home for the first time in 13 years!
It used to feel like that for me too. That guys hits the nail on the head. I think I'll get that book and have a gander. Did you read John Wardley that you got for your partner Kate? There's some local stuff in there too when he was working as a lad in Gt Yarmouth.
I haven't read the whole book, but my other half did read most of it to me when he was going through it - including John's experience in Yarmouth, and how displeased his father was that he loved it so much!
Don't suppose anyone has written a book on PWH yet? (not that this site isn't comprehensive enough... but I do love books!)
