A snoop around the Park

hello all!

Went up to pleasurewood hills this afternoon and went round the entire border of pwh and wen we got to the snig area we saw some new balloon rays. up near main reception was some objects - dnt know what these were thow. We heard some lorries and diggers further in the park and near wipeout there was a large like "tent" building. I will defo take some pictures next time wen i go on my bike up there.

RE: 2011

Interesting- at least there is something new going on!

How do you mean by "new" balloon rays? :)

Lorries and diggers always sounds promising I suppose, probably something to do with this nature trail, which will be interesting to see.

where's the point on new ballons? i hope they have just painted the old ones cos that otherwise would be a stupid waste of money.

^ Why?

And Reece, what makes you think they're new ballons?

Also, did you notice anything new about the entrance?

How do you know what colours they were before? They were multicoloured!lol And did you actually go right up to the entrance gates?

And there you go Leon, no change at all with the entrance. So do they just lie point blank to the press then?

what was wrong with the old ballons i think a bit of paint would have been fine. infact i would rather see the money spent on new cars for thunderstruck i get scared that there gonna fall off they're so creaky.

I think you need to calm down a bit!lol They're just balloons! And chances are they aren't even new. They do strip rides during the winter months, so the balloons Reece saw were probably the normal balloons, but as they were on the floor and/or the ride was stripped down, he thought they were new.

I cried for ages.
Maybe they're (hoping now) staggering/phasing in developments across the whole season...

^ Lol, that is hoping! It seems odd for them to come out to the press and say stuff like this, especially if its nothing really worth mentioning.

Its as if they know its bad how there are no new attractions yet again for this year, so they start saying things like "we have new tills!!woo", "we have cleaned the toilets!!!!11OMFG!!!WOO!" (after all, they told the press about a new floor for The Merry Mariner....)

Well, this really is poor...

And you say still time, the park has been closed for 4 months, and reopens just over 1 month. Yet the Rattlesnakes tunnel has been like this since last winter...

I told you before, that bloke in charge has no clue.... (And to think of how optimistic and happy we were two weeks ago?!)

Yes, I agree. Why remove a perfectly good (OK a little rough around the edges) fibreglass tunnel and replace it with a tin can? It really doesn't make any sense. I still believe this new bloke needs more time before we judge him Martyn. We have yet to see the quality of the Nature Trail and the other improvements inside the park which I hope are of a high quality that is required in this day and age.

As for the SITG I believe that this coaster has had it's day and a new family coaster should be installed. I think the park manager himself says that he wants the park to be on a par with Flamingoland, who have themselves just announced that they intend to install a new family/children's Zamperla coaster next year, but I don't see any step in that direction yet.

Let's just hope things move quickly otherwise people will stop visiting PWH.

Didn't that Stitch member mention on here, some time last year, that the tunnel was to be sorted? So they haven't intentionally just replaced with a tin shed, but it does seem as if they're now happy to leave it be.

I'm disappointed, but I'm going to try and stay positive.....

..... they've been working so hard to get The Nature Trail, and Laser thing up to the highest quality, so they're leaving SNIG's tunnel until they've finished!

Another butchers today and they were working on Enigma where the train was supported mid-circut by wire lol. HOWEVER - the train was painted grey and black.

HOPEFULLY this indicates that other work has been done to allow both trains to run?!

Hmm, interesting.

The wire could be something to do with the train stalling perhaps? I remember years ago I visited on an opening day, and both Cannonball and Rattlesnake had stalled, and they were using rope to pull Cannonballs train up to the next MCBR, so that could have been what they were doing? Though its a little early the rides testing, surely?

And what do you think of the colours? Do they looked finished? As that could be an undercoat applied to one of the trains that were left unchanged (and didn't they use of them old trains last year?)

If they could get Enigma sorted out properly, that would be as good as a new ride in my opinion.

The train was held before the second peak if you like, they were using a 'cherry picker' type person lift to work around the underside of the train.

Mmmm, probably finished. At the time i was there you couldn't get any closer (to look for another train...) as it was all coned off with them using the lift.

Completely agree.

Couldn't see ANYTHING (albeit through tress etc) around the nature trail area.

hiya

poped upto pleasurewood today and saw the enigma stuck!

I asked some manager type person and someone on maintenance about the new laser attraction thingy, they said it will go under the castle theatre aas there is another floor under neath the castle. I also asked about enigma and the maintenance dude said it had stalleed while testing. The ballooon rays have been re painted. More rides are due to be re painted or themeed the maintenance dude said.

I thought it may have stalled. Chances are they were adjusting the wheels, as that can often be a cause for stalling. Its good to see them testing the rides so early, but whats the point? No point doing that unless they're to then do it every day.

Hey as far as i'm concerened it GOOD they are testing/preping it'll give them a chance to iron things out before the start of the season. Unlike previous years, where the opening weekends have been a nightmere.....

Maybe this is the new regime up there, its encourging!

Has anyone else noticed that this year they are opening a weekend BEFORE the Easter Hols start, rather than at the start of them? A 'iron things out' weekend maybe?!

Yeah its good they're doing all this now, but there's not much if they now just leave Enigma until the opening day, they'll need to keep on top of it regularly.

Oh, and its great you guys going to get updates at the park! Just take your CAMERA NEXT TIME!LOL (I'm dying to see these new looks trains....lol)

Quite often leave the house without mine!!!

Anyhow - the train was painted solid grey with two ramdom black circles on the back..... no questions marks. I hope this means we may see both trains again this year.
