RE: 30 years of Pleasurewood Hills: 2013

That image was provided by Joe Larter's Archive. All images dated on the reverse. The video was mentioned to me by Voice over Guy via Twitter, so credit to him for that one. :)

What I like most about that video is seeing Fred Savage eating chips in his buggy. These truly were The Wonder Years!

Hi Guys - In case you missed these little treasures...on Facebook today :) As mentioned: We actually found these on the side of the old Fairytale Fantasy building opposite the Big Train Station.

We're actually trying to keep them as close to how we found them, cleaned up and preserved. Emporium had a lick of paint and new doors/windows. Colouring wall has gone. :)

It actually gets confusing between what was a map and brochure or leaflet and map or any other combination lol

It is all a bit overwhealming at the moment now we have so many on there... I'm working on dividing things up more clearly... But i'm also working silly hours in my real-life job at the moment. Boooo.

Think that tune needs to be played at the entrance for when the gates open.

That's good to hear. I hope they're given a nice modern touch! (The Emporium was refurbed for this year, wasn't it?) Oh, and that reminds me, did they keep that 'colouring in' wall on the side of The Emporium?

Shame the colouring wall went, I guess it wasn't used that much? T'was a very neat idea though.

Last time I saw it, it had a load of phone numbers scrawled over it.

I remember seeing those portraits last time I was there.... they 'weren't that hidden at the time. Hearing they will be preserved makes me very happy.

What shops are in the park theses days?

They are ace! I'm glad you're going to restore them. Some lovely litte touches the park used to have and I'm really glad that you're bringing a few back to life!

Having chats with the team this week, those time-fillers and small touches are hopefully what we are going to focus on this season - Especially as we are celebrating 30 years.

My aim, and I hope you've noticed via Facebook, is to get people reminiscing. Remembering the smells (candy floss, BBQ, waffles, cookies and popcorn), the sights and feelings of when they were at PWH in it's hey-day. I'm hoping I can tap into that and by peak season have some things in place that will send people back to those memories.

Down to those little things. - Naming the Pleasurewood Paddlers: Shuttle and Apollo.

Wow, I'm really surprised that you're wanting to get stuff added for this year, I wasn't expecting anything until at least next year, that literally is incredible!

To think, like 3 years ago we had nothing to discuss on here..... now I can hardly keep up with whats going on!

I like making up insane rumours to try and keep the discussion up, but I also like knowing what is actually happening, which do I like more?

Finding stuff out obviously.

That's why I'm here Matt. I want to let you in to 'secret stuff' but it needs to be controlled and within reason. I'm excited about what we can achieve within a short amount of time. Just small fixes - We're not talking big coasters or attractions; I'm talking about putting that 'heart' back into the place. That's out aim throughout this season. :)

And you're doing a grand job Ben! (and it appears that everyone else involved with the park is too!)
