RE: 30 years of Pleasurewood Hills: 2013

As has been mentioned in the trip report thread, there sould be more of a push for season tickets next year, and make them worth while! Especailly if you insist on charging so much for them.

Seaon ticket holders should get 50% pay-to-play attractions (not games), and 20, maybe 30% off merchandise and food (lets face it, even with a discount like that, the park will still be making a profit!).

AND, considering just how much of an online presence the park now has, why is there still no discount for purchasing tickets online!?!! Not only should the online tickets be about £4 cheaper, they should also be doing special 'online only' offers every now and then, like "50% off tickets this weekend, only when you book online by Friday midday".

Totally agree. The majority of other parks have online discounts; people love a deal! Season ticket as it stands is very poor value for money compared to the cost of season passes of other establishments and the said perks you also receive with them.

And continue the odd facebook offer as well, i think that is a massive positive, also i agree about season tickets. May walk up there tomorrow to try and speak with management about this.

Just thought I'd show you guys this.. This isn't the final copy, nor is it the correct size/design/etc etc, but I'm thinking of going along this kind of route for some of the 30yr marketing.

Nostalgia to the max!

Just add 'with pleasurewood hills's biggest ever rollercoaster' on the end and it'll be perfect!

Not heard anything official as yet, but it should be because of the brand change yes.

What about the rumours that the entrance was going to be redeveloped anyway? It would be nice to have a nice new entrance for next season.

On the subject of the rebrand - Laurence can you let us know if you are going to change the ride information signs? I mean the ones like the new ones on JR, TT and LL; they are really tacky and look straight from a fairground.

I love it, it's such a unique feature for a theme park!

Those old train coaches are criminally underused.

I have not been for about 3 years- it is nice but is also overpriced I think... The takeaway menu is normally about a pound cheaper per item or it was. lol !!

The train needs to be used again. I remember it used to serve really nice meals in there back in the 80s and 90s.

Obviously the current colours of the train suit it well, with the platform and station roof, but I did love the days when it was "The Pepsi Express".

It's shame really, when CdA revamped it in 2005, it was really nice, offering some really good food.

I wonder if the park are planning a party day/week this year? Perhaps even a mini concert with Bananarama and Kajagoogoo* or something?
In all seriousness a 1983 entry price (about 3 £1 notes I reckon!!) day would be nice with some good ol' fireworks.
Pleasure Island is 20 years old and have this sorted:

*For the youngsters, the above named are popular music bands from 1983. :stereo:

On he 25 years anniversary they had a day where it was pay per car like the old days. They should have something similar again during the quieter times.

The train was a great selling point for the park. A lovely place to eat and exciting too especially for the kids. Goodness knows why they don't use it any more as its so unique and would make a lovely restaurant if done up again. It's a travesty!

and the theme of train spans across the park alot with the Cannonball Express (enigma), and the train that regularly went aroudn the park and I think there was a mini train somewhere too.

but yeah that was quite a unique selling point

There used to be two Trains in the park a red and a green one. plus the mini railway and the diner one.
During the 'American theme park' glory days. Had a bit of a wild west theme going on as well.

Ah, I never visited the park much between 97-05 or something silly like that, I never saw that one.
Last time I was a quest was about 2005, and worked there in 2009 I think.
