1st June 2010: A visit to the hills

Hiya guys went up to the hills today for my 25th time! biggrin Nomal routine up and early to get there for about 9.30 as i had my little friend with me Connor Warner.

They actually opened the park 5 minutes early today, we were both quite shocked as all of the times we have been before they have always been bang on time or running a little late. Any way this is how our day went:

We rushed down to the dodgems as normal, and spent about an hour on them, it was just us 2 on there for about 15mins until these teenagers came down and we had both declared war on them. It was hilarious! After getting chucked about for an hour we had decided to get off the dodgems and went onto the snake in the grass, which was nice had 3 laps, and sat right at the very back! After our laps of the snake in the grass we ventured onto the balloon rays, we were gunna have a couple of go's but i had spun it sooo fast we could hardly stand at the end, so we had just the one! The time was getting on now for 11.20 and wanted to go back up the main part of the park, so we did. Our first ride at the main part of the park was wipeout, awsome! Connor was gettin a bit peckish now so we both decided to eat dinner on the large train, and had a couple of laps of the park. Then we moved onto the small train and started to see the new nature trail to take place in the woods, which was very interesting. Then we moved onto the wavebreaker and got some lovely pictures of views of the park (pictures shown below). The time was now gettin on for about 11.45 and we had both wanted to see the early sealion show, so we did at 12.15. While we were waiting as the wizzy dizzy queue was too big we went onto thunderstruck, but when we started to lift up i saw the sealion show letting people in so we rushed over to the show and got a fantastic seat. The show was hilarious (even funnier than normal). While we were waiting for the show to start we were both telling eachother of wat we wanted to do after dinner.

After the sealion show we went onto wizzy dizzy, pirate ship and chairlift. The park was really busy and u could see that from the chairlift. When we got to the other side of the chairlift we had walked over to the pirate ship and enigma. We had got stuck on enigma, just before the second station, and was waiting there for about 5 mins until the maintenance team came and pushed us down the track to the station. It was then shut because of the rain. After all of that action we went back to the dodgems for a couple of go's then went upto sky hooks. Excellant, then it was time for the veteran cars! We went to go onto the go-karts but they were closed due to the rain so we went onto spira - light and the small train again. By this time it was almost reaching 1.30 and we went onto tails of the coast, and i looked into the operators booth and saw a notice saying "improvements for 2011", so i asked the guy wat is was all about and he sed next year they will hopefully be having lots of new rides and attractions there next year, depening on the finance side of this year. We then went back onto wizzy dizzy, wipeout (x5), timber falls and the carousel. In the afternoon alot of people had started to come into the park, so wipeout was quite busy after we had been on it so we went round the park for about 10mins and took pictures. We then went onto kite flyer, wavebreaker, thunderstuck and shiver m' timbers. The day was gettin on now for 4.00 so we went to the 4.15 parrot show, we then rushed to dodgems afterwards but he had just closed it at 4.45 with a maintance sign on it. So we went back to ride wipeout for another 5 times. After all of that the day had come to an end.

had infact gone up there saturday and went to the circus (its brilliant, one not to miss)

THIS IS NOT A FULL TRIP REPORT, WE HAD INFACT GONE ON EVERYTHING (APART FROM THE MINATURE KIDDIES RIDES)

A good day enjoyed by all.

Will be going up pleasurewood hills again very sooooon, tomorrow off to bewilderwood. The new play park adventure will be opening WEDNESDAY 2ND JUNE.

Unfortunatly you cant read anything into this "the guy you mention  or none of the other operators know whats in store for next year" the only thing that is scheduled for next year is the nature trail.  anything else will be a bounus,  lots of new rides , dont think so :) put that down to wishfull thinking :)

Glad you had a good day - I may visit myself on Friday if the weather's good.

You kinda just contradicted yourself there. You say the ride ops no nothing about future investments, but then go on to say there will be nothing next year apart from this Nature Trail, yet you are a ride op?

Anywho, great report Reece, I cannot believe you have been 25 times already! Infact the park has only been open for around 30 days or so! Think your loosing count!lol

Why do you go so often? Though it does sound like you enjoyed yourself still. I can just see these 2 teenagers bombing around the park causing chaos where ever they go!lol

^^^^

Agreed with this!

Can we see some of the new TF queueline please?

Anyway on this Improvements for 2011 thing- was it like a list in the operator booth? And I wouldn't look to much into this "loads of new rides for 2011..." they were probably just trying to bring you back for next season or maybe just egging you on?

I would be surprised if they did have loads of things planned to be honest... :(

why is this contradicting myself?
i said  "only thing that is scheduled for next year is the nature trail"
it has also been published in the local papers when the new manager started his job. this is widley known fact
again no ride op knows whats in store apart from this nature trail
yes i am a ride op , nature trail is fact its happening , anything else next year is bonus.

Well you said "no ride op knows whats in store apart from this nature trail" - yet you then go on to say "lots of new rides, dont think so..." - yet how do you know, as you say ride ops dont no anything? That was all I was getting at, thats all. :)

is that new paint on the pic of tales of the coast.

Thats not actually Tales of the Coast! (At first I thought it was too, so you're not alone :P)
