RE: Old Photos & Memorabilia

Was great to see this video, good to see so much old stuff. The Astroglide in there and so much more. The park was SO much more busier then, the atmosphere was great and you can sense that in the video. Yes things did slide as the 1997 season approached..... I think a lot of that footage was filmed between 1994-95.

Glad you enjoyed it, that was given to me when I was 6, I've kept it ever since!

If only we could just revive the past, I wonder if Ronnie or Clarence would ever make a "nautical" return?

Hey Voiceoverguy great pics.

I'd love to see a bigger scan of the 1998 leaflet you have there, its the only one i don't have!? Welcome on board!

Thanks! Which one is the 1998 one?

The 1998 is the leaflet with the 'Hollywood' style PWH letters on the front. The only year i failed to visit.

That video is SUPERB, thanks for getting it online. I think i remember seeing it being played on screens in the castle before the shows way back when. Its crimial to think what happened to the park the following 3 or so years after the vid was shot. It still hasn't recovered:(

Oh yes! It's actually the most uninteresting leaflet of all, but I'll scan all the same!

I was hoping, watching back I'd see my puppet being used, I just can't find anything!

All I know is that Mike Wallis used it in 1994. Can anyone enlighten me?

Yes I remember it being played somewhere. I think the 1997 season was the last year that Noel had any envolvement ?

Also 1997 was the year the Tidalwave opened I think ?

Toys, merchandising, and Blobby online

Theme parks in Somerset, Morecambe, and Lowestoft were created based on the Blobby character. Visitors could travel through attractions such as Mr. Blobby's house. All of the parks have since closed

This is how Wikpedia sum it up, anyway we can edit this ?

Yeah, you can edit Wikipedia yourself and put it right that PWH is still open. A couple of years back the Daily Fail printed a story about one of the Blobby parks which was derelict etc and they also printed that PWH was closed also. Not good PR for the park!

Anyway, voiceoverguy that video was absolutely brilliant! The park definitely had a buzz about the place and it looked incredibly busy - obviously Noel Edmonds was there that day so maybe it was busier than normal - who knows! It's funny how the poor quality of the on board camera in Canonball Express makes it look like Enigma!!

CBTV studios looked like great fun and well themed, I never went in it, I was too interested in rides when I was a kid!

Man that brings back soooo many great memories! "New lamps for old!".

This and Scarlett Johansen's hacked photos make this the best internet day ever!

Thanks button needed!!

And yes, the food looked awful - that wasn't the greatest part of the video!

BTW I've edited the Wiki page.  I've put that Blobby was at the park during 95 and 96 but if I'm wrong just edit it again.  I can't bloomin' remember.

Lol, I thought that! I actually had to rewind it and watch again, kind of in a state of confusion as to how they managed to record footage of Enigma in 1995!haha

Thanks for uploading that voiceoverguy (so whats your real name, to save typing that each time?)

Who Isaac? Isaac Gulliver? Welcoming everyone to my old haunt?

Unfortunately I'm not. However I'm working on a new project at the park, but I'm not saying a word :)

If anyone did fancy a trip to the hills, I've got a few BOGOF's to use up.

I think you're right about the filming dates, didn't Cannonball Express directly replace the Astroglide? I'm sure there was no overlap.

Let's just say I'm doing research this Saturday to find out how well my project will come across and to assess existing methods in place. Myself and PWHSocial are friends and he's letting me loose on a project. I'm sure all will become clear sooner rather then later.

So, how did you come to collect all that stuff from the 90's?

Growing up in the 90's helped, also eBay :) my favourite piece is the Q here sign which was given to me by Steve Harvey. We should make a museum with all our pwh bits!

Yes I think so... I remember "the pit" being changed a bit and the track arriving and being painted before construction. I also biked up regulary in the evenings to check on developments of the Cannonball being constructed. The day Noel opened the ride I biked up there with my mum and the ride was not open to the public it was in test mode, some of the engineers called me down and said did I want a ride !!  I went down the ladder that can still be seen grown over with grass on the embankment near the main que line and then took a ride right round the ride, we did not stop in the break station. !!

^ Yeah I know what you're on about. So forever more I'll be able to say to myself "that ladder is there for when coolskin wants a ride, without paying to get in" XD
