How badly does this sound like your typical Yarmouth chav: (taking from GYPB's Facebook page)
this is a rip off, what the hell are locals supposed to do in winter when you close all the amusements. we wanted to go today, knowing there'd be no torsts to get under our feet, and youre closed. so we have to put up with torsts packing everywhere up in summer, but in winter, people who live here aren't allowed to enjoy themselves. this is also crap on our enconmy, as there are less jobs available. if youre not prepared to open in winter for the locals, then dont bloody encourage the useless torsts that keep cluttering up the place.

I was in Yarmouth yesterday, so it would have been rude not to have gone for a nosey around the PB!
Log Flume, still standing, and as beautiful as ever!
Mulan undergoing some serious structure work (by the looks of things)
Ah ha! In between the Haunted Hotel and the cafe, I spot the frame work for the new coaster (on the Twisters old site). Annoyingly that was all I could see!
It's a fairly small frame, so I would assume it's going to be a Fabbri model.
Evolution is also still at home....
Roller Coaster undergoing some serious work, as well as yet another repaint:
Oh, oh, what's that I see there?
I think this picture confirms it's going to be a Fabbri model, given the shape of the head rests;
Absolutely no change at the bottom of the park, all rides/attractions still there!
Twister has been demoted to the maintenance area.... (considering Evolution is for sale, you'd think they'd move that out, surely?)
So yeah, not much happening, and it looks like the new spinner is a small Fabbri model.

"So yeah, not much happening, and it looks like the new spinner is a small Fabbri model" Gutted, the first time in years that the park has added a coaster and they going and hire/buy one of these. Is it the one from Skegg?
How bizarre the Twister is folded away. I'd be VERY surprised if it didn't return in time for opening. Its one of their most popular rides - always a full load.
Slightly disappointed, but not surprised, about the Spinning Coaster being a diddy one, but its better than nothing.
I doubt it's the one from Skeg, as that is quite a large-ish model. As far as I'm aware we only have two of them Fabbri Spinners in the UK, the one at Skeg, and M&D's Mad Mouse. However, there are always quite a few of these for sale on ride sale websites.
And I too am a bit surprised about Twister, though I doubt it's going anywhere. I dont like Twisters at all, but the model at GYPB has always looked nice and fresh.
They aren't the most exciting coaster type, that's for sure. But it will suit the PB, they have needed something like this for many years now, lets hope they keep inveting like this year in year out. Dont want to have to wait another 20 odd year for another average family coaster.
"An amazing new spinning rollercoaster named ‘Family Star’ is set to open at the Pleasure Beach in time for the start of the new season.
The visually spectacular ride sends thrill-seekers along a winding track, just like a regular coaster, ...with the difference being that the car the riders sit in spins crazily at it makes its way along.
Construction of the ride is currently in full swing, with the maintenance team working all-hours available to complete the build-up & a large crane has been on-site assisting since last week.
The Pleasure Beach is set to open its gates again on Saturday 23rd & Sunday 24th March it will also be open daily throughout the Easter Holidays, Thursday 28th March – Sunday 14th April."
GYPB have confirmed on their FB page that there are no rides leaving the park this year, and Twister is going to the south end of the park, by the GoKarts.
"All rides are still here including Disko, Twister may go up south end near Go-Karts but thats still to be confirmed!"
Very odd, considering that the news article said that rides were in the process of being cleared from the south area...
And moving Twister down there is stupid IMO, it's a very popular ride, moving it down there will just kill it's popularity.
Again I think the whole casino thing will not show any progess of happenings this year....were now feb and the announcement was made what towards end of summer 2012 ???? We all know there has been no change at the end of the park
A bit of paint?! They've completely rebuild the facade!
It's as if they're trying to get rid of the tacky ghost train image, and make into a proper little haunted house (or they're FINALLY trying to make it look like a hotel ;)). And I must say, that looks really, really good. I look forward to seeing it finished. (So that's possibly new scare attractions for GYPB and PWH!)
I know the place does need to be improved to bring it line with the upmarket casino developement, but I am very impressed with their efforts this year.
I wonder if the inside is getting a revamp? (If so that's possibly new scare attractions for GYPB and PWH!)
And yeah I hope they do a bit of work to the inside but I believe there just replacing the façade. They also said on there Facebook page they have repainted the inside of the Snails as well! I'm so pleased to see some change round the park! Everywhere is getting a bit of a tidy up, With them re-painting the wooden coaster, the new roller coaster, the ghost train façade, etc! Looking forward to visiting the park!
